Re: THT-LP (26" wide)
So if corner loaded, with a cabinet opening area of ~18"x26", it appears the minimum height would be ~10.64". That would save me some metal. :D I am not sure how you figured this out. 18 X 26 = 468 sq in. How did you figure out a ~10.64 in. height? Am I missing something in the calcu...

Re: THT-LP (26" wide)
Thanks. Up close, the finish is nothing to look at. The seconds coat of paint left brush strokes. But she's meant to be heard, and not seen. The power of this thing still startles me at times.Dubwoofer wrote:Looks nice.

TLAHs!! Tempting. But how to sell to the wifey. That's the question. Unlike the thtlp (size), I suppose they could just, show up one day. ...with a bunch of flowers/pair of shoes/handbag/perfume sat on top with a card written "love from the TLAHs". For my wife, it's more like, a ca...

Re: THT-LP (26" wide)
The camera angle is deceiving. Now that it's behind our display, you only see the top 6" of the cab. But the sound is everywhere.88h88 wrote:Wow. It looks like the monolith from 2001...

Re: THT-LP (26" wide)
Call me sheepish, but I don't think I'll ever turn this 500 watter amp up to half volume. I watched 2012 at ~1/3 volume and I could swear plaster joints were stressing to separate. It also seems that this sub is great at clearing my sinuses. I wonder if I can claim the building materials tow...

Re: THT-LP (26" wide)
Got the driver installed in the cabinet this morning and took it for a test run with Terminator Salvation. Had the Bash up about quarter volume and the Denon at -10db during the first battle scene. The look on the wife's face was priceless! I've read plenty of threads about the power these things pu...

Re: THT-LP (26" wide)
I like up firing with that nice angle corner seems like it may be the perfect extension to the horn path. Sounds like a plan to start with. I just put the second coat of black on the cab. Tomorrow I'll do a little driver break-in and this big guy should be ready for prime time on Sunday. :hyper: IM...

Re: THT-LP (26" wide)
What about having the mouth pointing up instead? Simpler to build, less visual impact (it'll sit lower behind the TV), and it'll still be corner-loaded by the ceiling corner. Just put a screen on the mouth ("pet screen" or similar) to keep anything from falling into the horn. That is an o...

Re: Cabinet Stand
I put on the first coat of satin black last night and this puppy looks great. I read that for down firing, the mouth should be a minimum of 18" from the floor. Is there an optimum distance from the floor for this horn? That depends on whether it's wall or corner loaded and the cab width. You d...

Re: THT-LP (26" wide)
Let the putty and sanding begin. The spot for the amp looks pretty good.
