Re: DJ Subwoofer- Yorkville PSA1S "equivalent"?
Can a T39 handle the low B on a five-string bass? Low B is about 31hz. T39 is limited to 45hz, or 40hz in a group of 4+. The low notes will drop out... Dan, Sorry to pull you up on this, but the High Pass for T39 is 45Hz, and 40Hz if four or more. The limit is in volts. CO has it covered, but for b...

Re: Contemplating new lights
Lighting is like audio, buy once cry once. Spend reasonable money from the outset to get a few basics, than spend almost nothing on something that will fail in no time at all. Joe actually uses midi via Freestyler with his custom controller. Check out Chauvet, who have just released wifi via USB for...

Re: Contemplating new lights
Charles, Nice read. I would have only bought something like your Orion's for uplighting or (back) wall wash, so, you have that covered. I reckon something like the Stinger 2 you mentioned would be a great way to go for effects. You might like to think about adding some RGBW par cans (which can be li...

Re: Question for signal processing gurus
Ok, you have an analogue mixer (or two), cool. Set up a compressor to duck the music channels (if you're not sure how, google it, there's lots of info on the net about ducking) but add EQ as well to the input side of the compressor, tailored to vocals frequencies only. You should be able to get that...

Re: Question for signal processing gurus
That's a lot of work, and a lot of channels CO, but it would get the result.
I'm going to wait until I hear about the mixer first...

Re: Setup for yearly party
Pack space is an issue, I will be storing them in the attic and the opening is only 20*28" or so. That's why I am thinking two slim t45 with the 3012lf and two stock SLA pro. Instead of wider but shorter cabs But in regard to the omnitop 12, will that not need a bit more eq to match the t45 in the ...

Re: Setup for yearly party
Your home hifi speakers and amp are simply being pushed to hard and you get the result you do. The 2 x T45's are a good idea for the subs, and, as per the other thread you had, use the 3012lf rather than the lab12 to save a significant bit of weight. As to SLA Pro: Do some sums. While you don't need...

Re: Mini DPDT switch acting wierd
So, I was thinking the DPDT switch was knackered since it kind of only 'half switched' to one side away from the middle position, i.e. it wouldn't detent properly fully one way. Then I got it home after a car ride and it switched fine both ways away from the middle. Anyone else had this? And is it ...

Re: Omni 212?
I have an Acoustic Control Corp 370 bass head, and it likes to run at 4 ohms. It REALLY likes to run at 2 ohms, but if I could build a 4 ohm cab, I'd be pretty much ruling my small world here. Bit if a side note here, relative to your question about the Omni 2 x 12, but could you explain why? My an...

Re: T24 & W8 bass guitar rig
G'day Charles :) LTNS The only thing I can see out of kilter in this thinking is the Wedgehorns have a pronounced bump in their response for vocal intelligibility, because they are monitors. That means a lot of EQ to sort that, and also means it's not really suited to anything else other than monito...

Ask Bill for updated plans and have a look.
Any driver meeting the TS specs for each will do fine...

Re: Corner loading Tuba 60
Welcome to the forum :) 1. Don't think of using the THTLP. It's a HT sub, not suitable for another use. Read this thread: https://billfitzmaurice.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=25202 2. Yes, the T60 will go to 25Hz, regardless of width. It has to be high passed from 25-30Hz with DSP, and brick wall ...

Re: I blew it!
I'm sorry your driver was toasted. The solution to the problem isn't one of trying to prevent it happening again, because, lets face it, in it's normal HT environment, it's freaking awesome from what I've seen written here in the forum. That's because in the HT environment, and HT use, it gets to lo...
