Re: Merry Christmas to Everyone

Merry Christmas everyone. ....and that's the cue for someone else to share. :) My wife and I don't really get each other gifts, it's all about our kids, but this year she bought herself some stuff so I got a second hand Yamaha MG166CX-USB mixer. It's my first bit of PA kit and I warned her that I'm ...

Re: Australian Options - Suppliers / Drivers etc

Still flogging the pants off the AT with the Jaycar 8", it loves it. Good to know thanks. Ever since you posted that you built the AT using that driver I've wanted to build one. Now you're torturing me! Sadly, I think my car might be due for retirement soon so don't want to commit to a sub tha...

Re: Setup (pretty much) complete!

I saw Slash with his band earlier this year (don't mock me for that!) and they play a lot of the Guns n' Roses songs. During the drum kit setup the drum tech was hitting the cow bell. My friend was surprised they had one, to which I replied "You can't play Night Train without one". Sure en...

Re: New Site

Great job on the new site Chris. OK, we're also now Tapatalk'ed - I've had a quick play and that works. So give it a try. I've just tried viewing the site on tapatalk and I can see all the latest and unread posts etc but the only sub-forum that shows up is the "Authorised Builders Showcase"...

Re: Repair of 1980 Rhodes Piano - link

Thank you all! how does the piano know which key is pressed It doesn't need to. Just like an electric guitar doesn't know what strings you pluck. In the piano each key has a hammer that hits it's own "tine" that vibrates in front of its own pickup. The vibrating tine affects the magnetic f...

Repair of 1980 Rhodes Piano - link

Hi Guys
A link to a project I recently finished - rewinding pick-ups from a 1980 Rhodes 54 piano (54 keys). The link is below if you want to check it out (it's on our NZ bass player site).

Got it, thanks Bill.

Just to finish things off, what about my last question about the statement being calculated from a formula or is it a measured result?

Re: Alpha 6C For WH6 or SLA PRO?

Bill (or anyone else) Can you advise please 1. Is the Eminence Alpha 6C suitable for use in the WH6? 2. Is the 4 Ohm impedance too low or the need to run 2 WH6 in series to get 8 Ohm's too inflexible (meaning both WH6 would have to have the same mix)? 3. What would be the Voltage or Watts limit to r...

Re: Alpha 6C For WH6 or SLA PRO?

Hi Grant :) Good to chat again and I thought I might get a reply from you due to the time zone we're in. Thanks for your comments. I thought that for WH6 with the 6C I could just two cabs in series for a 8 Ohm load which would be usable. Trouble is, if I build 2 WH6 then I have 2 drivers left over a...

I knew I had seen it somewhere before

this topic

I got all excited and just pulled the trigger on 4 of these for NZ$110 total. :fruit: Figure I can build some WH6 or SLA PRO minis. Either that or they will go back on Trade Me!
