Re: J12 3012HO first night out

Speaking of pl in the veins... Because I'm a slob when I build, I wound up with lots of that crap all over my hands. One thing I learned was if you have blistered or just sore fingers, rub some pl glue on them and let it dry. Forms a rock hard surface that can lower the pain level. :bull: :bull:

J12 3012HO first night out

How suitable that my first night gigging the J12 was on valentines day because.... man I love this cab. My original bass rig was a Carvin r1000 pushing a 4 x 10 + 1 x 15. Main bass is a Ibanez SR505. Lots of stuff to haul and sounded loud, but undefined. Sold. Bought a Gallien Krueger RB700 and a 1 ...

Re: Wall Loading

ok, sounds like a good place to start. I am also assuming since it is a fairly small venue, placing the subs one on top another, facing a wall or corner, will yield better results than flanking the stage and wall loading 2 separate walls? I have never been in the place so I don't know how wide apart...

Wall Loading

I am sorry if this has been covered before but I can't seem to find it..... I am doing sound next week for a hard rock band and will be running their PA. Is wall loading beneficial with front loaded subs as well as horns? I believe I will be working with a pair of 2 X 18's. http://www.sonicspeaker.c...

Re: XF 212 Completed

A word of caution on the "master carpenter". I have read stories on this forum of experienced woodworkers attempting to to alter the plans detrimentally, based on " traditional furniture building" guidelines when assisting new BFM builders. As long as the carpenter will work wit...

Very nice looking cab.

Thanks, I found this head and couldn't pass it up. Under 300 bucks and is all updated with Vetta II firmware and it has a Variax port. I love this thing!

Re: XF 212 Completed

yes I did get the CD. I figured, things always change and who knows what my needs will be in five years so this way I am covered plus really.... a hundred bucks for all those plans? That's a steal.

Re: XF 212 Completed

Thank you Leland!!! I'll be ordering more stuff soon. Well, the driver issue is fixed (operator error) and I am very satisfied with the sound of this cab. I dare say it is even better than the 4x12. I run high gain usually and I always fought with keeping the low mids tight, yet full. I always seeme...

XF 212 Completed

Well, I finally finish my first BFM build. I built it closed back and I am fairly happy with it although on first test run only 1 driver was working. (a testament to my soldering awesomeness). Its loaded with Celestion G12t75's and with even only one working it sounds good. My back has already thank...

Am I paying too much for BB???

I just purchased 2 sheets of 4'X8' 1/2" BB from a local cabinet maker. @ 60 bucks a sheet should I do more searching for a supplier or is this typical of cost? This is the cost for me to pick up locally at the builders workshop. He just ordered with his normal order so as to no incur any added ...

Re: Live Sound - Vocals are buried and unintelligible

Sorry if I missed it but what mic are you using for your vocals? There is a reason the SM58 is the most live used mic in the world. That being said, I have first hand experience with running into china rip-offs of these which have horrible bandwidth. Taking into account that a bulk of your gear is B...
