Re: Marching Band Sound Reinforcement
How timely - I just watcedh a Marching Band Competition last night, and here are my thoughts, which may or may not help, but I'm responding, so I'm going to vent a little. First off, most bands run full range 15's. Irritates me when 1/2 the bands lay their speakers on the side. Makes me happy when t...

Re: driverack pa2 question
I run tops, subs and monitors.off a PA+. Kicker- its mono, not stereo. On the dbx forums, there's an faq that describes the process. Basically, tops and subs hi/low out right channel, monitors mid out left channel, something like that. Each out has its own crossovers and eq's. Again, mono, so all to...

Re: SLA Pro driver question
Kekani, I have a 1/4"cable with a SpeakOn to 1/4" adapter on one end. SpeakOn side on the SLA and 1/4" side into left input on sub. Also since a cross-over is recommended I will put in an order for the DBX along with the remaining parts for my short SLAs. This DBX looks a little comp...

Re: SLA Pro driver question
I also thought about a DBX but I am not sure if I really need it if the SLAs already have a cross-over inside the cab. The speaker connections are from amp to SLA, then from the SLA to the second SLA speaker, and finally from the second SLA speaker into a powered sub. The crossover is internal to t...

Re: SLA Pro driver question
Success again! I decided to re re-wire everything on the 1+/1- terminals and now I am able to daisy-chain the SLAs and sub all off one channel. Thanks for everyone's input You have helped me out a lot and I now have a better understanding of SpeakOn wiring configurations. I Will try to post pics so...

Re: DR250 Build, Perth Australia
If you don't have an inlay routing set, you can make an outside template and use a pattern routing bit. If I were to do it, I'd just make an "L" jig and route two sides, move the jig, and finish the other two. Actually, I'd just lay a straight edge of ply as a "fence" for the rou...

And I thought I increased degree of difficulty in my DR200 build. Lots of skill in this build. Props for sure!

Re: How to NOT build DR200's with Compression Drivers
Okay, okay, did the deed. Flat eq'd and ran my ipod. First off, these take "less" eq than a Jack 10 or 12 with the melded. For now. I just cranked them up in the house for fun, which I'm comparing by memory to the Jacks. Can't say much about volume yet, because the Jack's seem louder. I di...

Re: DR250 Build, Perth Australia
With regards the dreaded nacelles, I have started making a template to drill the mounting holes. The plan at this stage is to make some timber tubes by drilling out the centre of pieces 5/8 (16mm) dowel. I will drill a hole in the module sheaths and mount the timber tubes through the sheaths down t...

Re: How to NOT build DR200's with Compression Drivers
Final leg. Finished wiring up the Speakon Jacks in the back, attached the plate (no pics - you've seen this before), attached and mounted the filter board, and drivers are in place. Need to wire the CD's, then look for my Allen head cap screws. See anything missing before I mount the module? http://...

Re: How to NOT build DR200's with Compression Drivers
By request from Anton - If anyone hasn't figured it out yet, the reason I put it on a single board is because I'm too lazy to drill two separate boards on. This time though, that thought process doesn't make sense. I'm wracking my brains figuring out the wiring on a single board. Mind you, I've alre...

Re: How to NOT build DR200's with Compression Drivers
Honestly, each time I see someone starting an OT12 build I always thought to myself "Why not just do a pair of DR's and be done with it?" Consider me humbled. :slap: You make me laugh more than once on this build thread. Thanks for sharing Kekani, and extra kudos for spicing it up with hu...
