Re: Crown Xti dropping channel fix.

I called Crown and was informed the fix would be a new display board @ $100 each. How could that possibly be anything other than a manufacturer's defect? Do you jostle your display PCB often? Sheesh. I've lost a lot of respect for Crown since the xti series came out. http://billfitzmaurice....

Re: Anyone have experience in DIY line level attenuator pads

It kinda... sorta makes sense to have all that headroom, assuming your inputs are full-scale and you'll be summing two tracks, plus high-Q resonant filters, effects, etc. Not that this is much of an excuse, because console mixers have potentially dozens of inputs plus EQ, but maybe a console operato...

Re: HF noise in DEQ2496

That looks like a typical noise chart for opamps and such, rising toward 20kHz. Not exactly stellar being only -40dB or whatever, though. Whether it's audible depends on the ambient noise, gain factor, and relative signal level of course. I would expect better performance out of a piece of pro-audio...

Re: Anyone have experience in DIY line level attenuator pads

If it's balanced line, it's not as easy as sticking a control on the line if you wish to keep the line balanced. In that case you'd use a stereo pot. No. Nonononono. The tolerance between tracks (especially on logarithmic pots) is going to be crap compared to what you want for balanced input impeda...

Re: Extra stereo out on a DriveRack PA+

Do you remember why? I'll confess, I was just sitting there turning knobs with the rack in "storage". I didn't listen to the output. But if the front panel isn't lying, I see no reason why it wouldn't work.

Re: crest prolite 3.0 dsp?

1v below the recommended threshold isn't likely to be the straw that breaks backs. Every little deviation from ideal affects excursion. The horn is never precisely as modeled, the temperature isn't always exactly 25C, the voice coil isn't cold after an hour of playing, etc... That's probably why the...

You gotta hang it somewhere while you're putting the next panel in place, right?

Re: crest prolite 3.0 dsp?

When I (rarely) have to do this, I use a 1/4" to 1/4" TRS (since my small mixer has 1/4" outs), a 1/4" female TRS to 2x 1/4" female TRS splitter, and a pair of short 1/4" TRS to XLR patch cables to the amps.

Re: PL Premium or PL Premium 3X? New Label???

Me too. In my town, Home Depot and Lowes are on opposite sides of an alley. I went to HD, no PL Premium to be had at all. Went over to Lowes and there's this other stuff I'd never seen before. Out of frustration, I bought it anyway. Got home and used it, and hey! It's still the same old stuff! Thank...

45 degrees on which axis? I'm not following either, but then I have zero CNC experience. Interesting to imagine though, since I have that problem with hand routing. That is an absolutely ridiculous build though. So freaking nice it makes me want to throw mine in a bonfire and just pay you to build s...

Re: Dual JBL GTO804 TT Build

You also might be used to the harmonics. When you play <100Hz on a sub, you get a lot of >100Hz to go with it. Sit with it for a while, get accustomed to it, and see how you feel.
