Re: THT-LP (26" wide)
Let me ask a quick question....how did you get that first joint fastened lined up right and without getting glue all over the place? It looks like once you get going it's piece by piece and pretty straightforward-but that first ungainly joint....I'm starting my that-lp project soon. Thanks for the ...

Re: Tuba HT low profile
Ok took the time to get levels set etc. I watched a movie. Saving Private Ryan at reference. BFM is a subwoofer god! I can not believe how powerful this thing is. The tanks were amazing, gunfire was actually felt in my gut. WOW! How could anyone not have one of these?

Re: My THTLP project
Just finished mine in a 22 by 18 room. cab 24" wide, 15" dayton driver. It is scarey how much pressure this thing puts out. I have an O-audio 300w plate amp and at 5-10 % of the volume it is shaking the house (7-10 volts). I need to spend some time with it and get it dialed in. May I recom...

Re: Tuba HT low profile
One more thing. Advice for anyone that's as dumb as me. Check the crossover on your amp if it has one. I was slightly underwhelmed listening with the crossover on and the low pass set as low as it would go. Turning off the sub crossover made a huge difference, imagine that. I had to cut the sub outp...

Re: Tuba HT low profile
18 smaller subs will not equal a folded horn. One of the best reasons to use a folded horn sub in home theater is that you can't find it with your ears. Cross it over below 100 hz, and have your friends be amazed. Don't get me wrong, I do like the Tuba HT, but I think 18 Sunfire subs would equal th...

Re: Tuba HT low profile
DONE! finished and installed. I didn't really appreciate how big this thin was until I put it in my room, It's giant! How does it sound, pretty good. Sound per $ ($400 including amp, driver, ply, and other hardware), nothing can touch it. Sound per cubic foot hard to say. I can't help but wonder if ...

Re: Tuba HT low profile
Question, This thing is too heavy to hang on the wall, just like you all told me. I wonder if I made another with 2 sides (joining) 90" long (the other two sides 72") and one leg in the other corner (where the 72" pieces join). The two long sides would be against the two walls in the ...

Re: Tuba HT low profile

My wife appeared immediately to ask what was going on, the plates were falling out of the cabinets :D . That's all I've done ...

Re: Tuba HT low profile
I don't want to sound stupid but I want to make sure I understand what you are saying. As an example sending the sub a test tone of 15hz will not harm the driver? I thought that it would try to reproduce the sound and eventually overheat or tear and die. I really don't want to chance destroying some...

Re: Tuba HT low profile
the distracting of the high frequencies is what I was trying to avoid. I wanted to limit the sub simply to keep it from blowing i9t self up trying to reproduce very low freq at high volumes such as War of the Worlds. Cut off the sub below 20 and crank it, let the shakers pick up what's below 20hz.

Re: Tuba HT low profile
I don't need much of a round over just enough to take off the razor sharp edge. Thanks for the help. One more question. Does any know of a crossover that will send 18-20 hz and above on way and below another? I would like to keep the freq below 18 or 20 from my sub but would like them to go to my bu...
