Re: Got a few minutes to kill?

Thanks for the Tommy Emmanuel tip guys - I'd never heard of him. Oh my word. Stunning. A guy I follow on youtube called Charles Cornell is a good player and does a variety of music explanation, analysis and humorous accompaniment to people talking / acting out.

Re: Old, big, heavy & awesome amps

Do you want such a big amp as that? The general theory is to run amps wide open, and use a limiter on the signal, as is required in plans for horn subwoofer safety. It doesn't make sense having massive available power in that scenario.

Re: Old, big, heavy & awesome amps

Hi Grille, I have a Thomann TSA 4-300. Whilst being heavier than switch mode powered ("digital") amps, it's not that heavy, at 7.5kg. https://www.thomann.de/gb/the_tamp_tsa_4_300.htm Can't speak for the other higher power versions, but mine is great - has never missed a beat, and the price...

ASMR recordings

On my journey with learning about recording techniques, this one is a new genre for me, and though binaurual recording has been covered here before, this seems to be the fullest use of such a technique it. There is apparently an acoustically pleasing phenomenon which helps a lot of people relax, go ...

Re: Building Guitarist's Foot Rest

Pretty serious Bruce!

I'd be interested to see/hear the results post gig if there'd be any footage.

Maton guitars remind me of The Wiggles.

Re: What's to chat about?

I'm waiting for the weather, to get another start on building an extension. Rain probability 50% this afternoon and >90% through Friday-Saturday. OTOH, I'm also piano tuning, so me and Mrs J can record some stuff for a contribution to remote church meetings - getting round to exploring mid-side reco...

Re: Another Rack Panel build

Very nice work Bruce.

The reference to hunting around with a flashlight in the back of a case triggers me. Definitely the way to go, and the investment is independent of the frequency of set-ups.

Re: BFM Hit List...

Woke up the other morning thinking of this song - The sun goes down (Livin it up): https://youtu.be/I-hvF8NLMRs There's just so many good songs by Level 42. Another musician's band. The modern trend seems to be fatter bass, and there are different EQ versions (presumably mastering) of this track. I ...

Re: New Jack 112 build

I love the router template - straight cut plates, fixed down - so simple and way neater than drilling and jig sawing, which I did on mine. I don't think I knew about the size for size copying router bit when I made my baffles - same as a lot of things really. Nice work.

Re: DR250’s x 4, 25th April 2020.

Nice review Grant. Must've been loud up close.

It crossed my mind about having a single column of four. I appreciate line sources are frequency dependent, however I see a line projecting in my mind's eye, as opposed to a 'point', and it still makes some sense.

I'm listening to Nik Kershaw at the moment. https://youtu.be/daieMawldVk This is a great track - it's got everything for a musician. From a great album too. Another of my favourites - the Dutch really know how to groove: Shackles from the Netherlands Convocation. The organist Andre Bijleveld used to...

Re: BFM Hit List...

It was Precious Lord. After turning it down and hitting repeat, I felt inspired to pick up the Bichon (dog) for a dance in the middle 3:15 answering phrase section. My wife got it on video - he was thoroughly unimpressed, i.e. resisting his theatrical education. It's funny / clean - not for public c...

Re: BFM Hit List...

This Cory Henry track is on my list for next time my system is out. My kids complain when I put his Hammond B3 album on on the Sonos - I tell them it's a necessary part of their musical education. One track is a particular 'Sonos breaker', but this one is more groove than frequency content, but will...

Bangin' video, and audio. Bass came over real nice. Lovely location as well. Never seen trees like that in a plantation layout - wonder if they're for produce.
