Re: Yet Another Table Tuba Build

Nice build. What's that antique I see in the background of some of the photos? Ford Model A?

Re: Bassiest songs you've put through your BFM system?

i0WlXcQ-hmI Recently did a house party using the dual TT and my Infinity 860w TrT (at lower volume) to smooth out room modes. Played this track as the opener, did a low pitch bend right as the bass kicked in and saw some kids go bradycardic for a few seconds. Brutal. In this thang-tyga  :sho...

You're using PL Premium, right? That doesn't look like PL squeeze-out to me for some reason.

Re: Modded Table Tuba Idea. Good or Bad? Suggestions?

Uh... I don't know how loud OP usually listens to his music, but the dual TT in the back of my car will make you hurt pretty quickly. The car becomes unsafe to drive because the bass starts physically affecting you, first your concentration and then your vision as you pass 15v or so. It's such a vis...

That's exactly what I needed after reading this thread. Sweet Jesus, what a nice setup. I want some T60s.

In on another epic build thread.

I also have access to a 5x10 CNC router at my school's woodworking shop. I've never used it, but it looks like I'll have to try my hand at some DRs. Sweet machine.

You're a teenager too? I only wish I had that kind of attention to detail when building my first horn at 16. Nice work, and it's always good to see us young people getting into DIY.

13" AutoTuba

I had some extra wood from my last 5" TrT build, so I decided to throw together an AutoTuba. I repurposed an old 8" ported sub and its plate amp, so I didn't expect a lot, just for it to be better than the ported box it was in. I used 1 tube of PL, a combination of MDF and spare Baltic Bir...

Re: 4" TruckTuba

I imagine my Infinity loaded 8" TrT would turn a small truck (say, a 90s Ford Ranger) into a pressure chamber. It would be intense.

Re: 4" TruckTuba

Does RMS rating in and of itself indicate greater SPL? Depends on at what frequency, we're comparing excursion limits to VC thermal limits at that point. Excursion at low frequencies is usually the limiting factor. Greater xmax= greater Vd. Efficiency isn't as relevant because it's the horn box, no...
