Somnific Flux by Bill Laswell.
Almost lost me a girlfriend once - she was freaked at how someone could enjoy listening to such weirdness.
It is just as sinister bassy atmospheric soundscape, no real beat or rhythm to it.
Have fun!

Re: DCX2496 and pair T48s cancelling out
Your amp is fine. Your processor is fine. Your speakers are fine. Your approach is making things complicated. In bridged mode, the two hot / red / positive / + terminals change function. One of them becomes the negative terminal. Look carefully at the back of this unit. http://soundselect.co.za/stor...

Re: Cheap Mixer
A quality live mixer worth considering: Soundcraft EPM 12 http://www.thomann.de/de/soundcraft_epm_12.htm It has 12 Mic inputs plus jacks for keys etc. I have been using it for a couple of years now. Absolutely no problems. One interesting point - The faders and knobs for each channel are on separate...

Time to take our meds?
We're merely suggesting a Tuba 6 times the size of a regular one. Put it on the back of your pickup truck and you're a one man carnival float.

Re: '98 Explorer Sound
My bad. I have old plans. The 97 incher isn't included. It makes a whole lot of sense though. So much hardware saved, and so much less paint - all those sides. My other idea was to V-plate the (pair of 97 incher) subs by using a single sheet for the sides of the cabs and the V-plate. That would make...

Now I think of it, I should have built a single 60 inch wide T 36 instead of two bulky 30 inchers

Yes, it is clear that Bill had in-car applications in mind.
He certainly sized the speakers to fit in cars very nicely...

Re: Arauco Ply
Here in Austria (you know, Mozart and Arnieville), I can only get CEIBA plywood. It is no voids. It is very clean/smooth. It is extremely light. But is CEIBA as stiff as recommended? I am wondering whether extra bracing might be necessary. I have certainly needed to protect corners as my cabinets di...

Re: '98 Explorer Sound
So, I wasn't getting the output I wanted in my VW van. I borrowed a smaller one. Was slightly challenging fitting the pair of T36 in there... So anyway, stripped out the rear seats, floor cover, carpet, some panels, and voila http://i44.tinypic.com/n14015.jpg it works, but I have to admit, it causes...

Yeah. I always thought people were exaggerating re the lack of highs and lows. But Crown is hardly going to make this stuff up.
What I don't get - aren't they fatally overpowering the speakers to get bass out of them?

Take a look at the (EQ) curves on this one!
As you chaps across the pond say - posting this for sh*ts n' giggles. See page 8 for revealing curves... http://www.crownaudio.com/pdf/legacy/k80780.pdf It was interesting to see that they boost the highs and lows by up to 15dB to make the speakers provide a flatish response... To compare, my OmniTo...

Re: Powering your BFM rig....
Years to go until I can really claim to have a reputation. Am doing my best do provide good sound, and not doing gigs I feel unready for. I have had one band with a technical rider stating 'keine selbstgebaute Boxen' i.e. no self-built cabinets. I guess they had negative experiences elsewhere. In th...

Re: Powering your BFM rig....
Are the I-tech amplifiers affordable for the weekend warrior type? I suspect many would be put off by the cost. Thermal limiters which can control the temperature of the voice coil are entirely new to me, but sound fantastic. If money were no option, the I-tech amplifiers look to be an excellent opt...
