Re: First BFM Build Odyssey: Tuba 60

Appreciate the re-assurance. It's a bit scary down the line thinking about putting the side panel on with nails + PL without actually "knowing" if there are gaps.. Yeah you can only do your best, sticking the side on is where the paranoia kicks in and you're asking yourself whether every ...

Re: 8*T30 30" dual 12" european

One piece access cover would be cool, it's usually done in multiple pieces because the chances of getting a cab perfectly square are usually beyond your first-time builder I'd imagine?

Re: 2x THTLP build after a 10 year hiatus

Are you sure the structural integrity of the room will be able to withstand 2 of them flexing way down in the hz?

Re: Tuba 60 Accessories (speakon dish and location)

What sealing did you use around the neutrik connectors? Are you talking about the speaker gasket? It has been a long while since the build but I'm fairly sure I made the holes in the panels for the speakers cable pretty tight and then slathered them in the polyurethane wood glue so it would expand ...

Re: Tuba 60 Accessories (speakon dish and location)

I installed on the bottom panel 10 and next to the upper handles panel 9 (if I'm reading the plans right!). The ones on panel 10 got shredded from moving the subs around over the years and the ones in panel 9 are still immaculate because they're obviously protected in the cut out there by the handle...

Re: When It Rains, It Pours....

Good to know! I'm usually running DJ stuff so have the most minimal sound mixer in an attempt to keep it simple.

Maybe I'll treat myself to a nice digital desk at some point in future!

Re: When It Rains, It Pours....

I actually had the DBX PA2 in the work rack decide it didn't want to do much the other day. Pulled all the kit out to plonk into one of our auditoriums to run sound for the Royal Institute Christmas Lecture re-streams (the audio kit in the room is awful and I refuse to use it). I switch the rack on ...

Re: When It Rains, It Pours....

I live in fear of a piece of kit going down to the point where I cart around an extra power amp because if I have it, everything will work flawlessly, right??

Re: Coventry UK Pride all-dayer

Yeah the 2 T39s I'm letting a friend use across the way have been part of a learning experience for him. We chatted about limiting first and foremost and that if he wanted to use the subs I'd only let him if he bought a limiter I could set. He was fine with that and bought a PA2 and then I got to sh...

Re: Coventry UK Pride all-dayer

Hi Bill, we've had some lovely comments about the sound quality on the kit so thank you very much for the designs and the knowledge that apparently made its way into my brain and stayed there.

Coventry UK Pride all-dayer

Hi gang, long time no see. After probably more than a decade hiatus my friend Matt has gotten the DJ bug again so I've pulled out the old kit and it now all lives at Fargo Village in Coventry. A friend has use of my T39s in a spot there and I use the T60s and OT12s in another. On the 9th of August I...
