Re: Effect of low QTS in bass horns?? Vas for dual loaded cabs??
hi Bill, with the high power/low qts drivers popping up, what would you consider the most important other specs to relate the low qts to? Rog Mogale advocates high EBP drivers which is if I understand these things right somewhat similar with using low qts drivers for horns, good cone control, fast t...

Four T30's and two DR280's
Hey, thought I should share this here for the people interested in BFM sound :) This was our club about a month ago, four T30's 27" 3012LF loaded stacked together as recommended(without V-plate tho), with two DR280's premium loaded with CD's. Sounding phenomenal as always, in their perfect envi...

Designed my own horn.
This was attempted in our ski vacation(mostly beer tho) in Bulgaria, extension lowered to about ~30 hz and an overall increase of about 20 dB in the whole register, who needs a tuba anyway?

There really are something sexy about the way that PC board look. Makes a novice like me wonder how these (as far as I can tell) Mostly IC's and a few resistors can translate into a playable game? It feels kind of strange and cool to see the components "Made in Japan"... where nowdays ever...

Isn't that more like 12-15 dB up?

Re: basement building T60s / Omnitops
I feel very sorry for that T60 in the pic with all the speakers... and my ears hurt thinking of the setup
It would probably have sounded better with all the other subs turned off, only running the tuba + tops.

Re: The journey begins.. 16 T60's and 12 DR280's!!
Am I the only one who thinks redlined Pioneers(probably depending on model) does NOT sound that awful? In some cases, especially regarding my friends DJM-300 mixer which we've been using a lot when we have been playing, I think the sound gets better when it's heavily into red. I guess it depens on t...

Re: T39 In a 4Runner
as I highly doubt my AT are going anywhere under 120 db in my small nissan micra, this must be really brutal. Very big car tho so it might be similar response to my AT in my micra. It is as brutal if not more than my four t30's corner loaded in the >40-50 hz register.

So, have the opening night taken place yet? I don't think I speak only for myself when I say that the interest in it is of high interest... how did it go?

Re: The journey begins.. 16 T60's and 12 DR280's!!
In my experience, it's rather easy to set time delay by ear. Not below 100Hz. Your ears just aren't that good. For that matter it's so difficult to hear time align issues below 80Hz that it's only apparent in the most severe cases, and the lower you go the harder it is to hear. That's why where sub...

I'm just talking from my own perspective, and how much I would like to call myself a audio nerd and all that, it doesn't matter if I don't have a visual or audial reference point to look/listen to, and as I'm always standing Behind the pa I need to be able to monitor the audio the sound going out to...

Re: The journey begins.. 16 T60's and 12 DR280's!!
I highly recommend you to put some cover over the t60's, I had some nasty noise from one of my t30's, I had no idea what could have caused it, brace vibrated loose or broke driver, but it was actually a piece of candy paper that was sucked in to the front of the driver and caused a hell of a lot of ...

I understand that everyone says that Bill's estimated audience figures are conservative, but I do free parties, and there is NO-WAY that I would want to do shows using Bill's crowd to sub figures... My figures assume that both the operator and audience are sane, and don't have ambitions of going pr...
