Re: Home theater build - THTLP, TLAH, SLA-Curved
The shore line is on the shelf right next to the flight line, the wheel cover gaskets, and the muffler bearings...... These items I know... Skyhook was a new one. That said, I used eye-bolts in the joist in the ceiling and D-rings on the speaker and 2 adjustable tie-down straps. Works like a charm.

Re: Home theater build - THTLP, TLAH, SLA-Curved
Whip, I am going through the same thing. What I think I will end up doing is putting a single bolt through the center of each end of the center channel from the inside of the cab and the threaded end sticking out. Then I will use nice "L" brackets from the ceiling with the bolts going thr...

Re: Home theater build - THTLP, TLAH, SLA-Curved
I googled Skyhook - found a projector mounting system that seems to be sold only in Australia. Am I not looking hard enough?Bill Fitzmaurice wrote:Skyhook.

Re: Home theater build - THTLP, TLAH, SLA-Curved
Ok, finally got my curved center channel done.
Now I need to mount it ABOVE my screen (the space below is taken up by my THT-LP).
Any thoughts on how I could do that?
Thanks!

You have my attention. Let me count them (40ish) and I'll let you know exactly how many I have.el_ingeniero wrote:I'll buy 'em from you ... I have the cabs with the openings already cut out for them I got from someone else.

Re: Home theater build - THTLP, TLAH, SLA-Curved
Well, after much experimentation, I've come to the conclusion that the JVC 3X5 shape is not something I will be able to make look good. I'm too deficient in woodworking skills (currently). I'll put those to the side and get busy with the Sony buyouts, instead!

Re: Home theater build - THTLP, TLAH, SLA-Curved
I'm actually working with 2 different sets of speakers for my speakers. I'm using the buyout Sony's and buyout JVC 3x5 from last year. Here is a look at my progress so far with the JVC's. http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/7130/dsc0002eq.th.jpg http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/3106/dsc0003rpo.th.jpg...

Home theater build - THTLP, TLAH, SLA-Curved
I'm part way into building a full set of speakers for my media room. Since I already have pretty decent speakers, I decided to start with what I was missing - a subwoofer. Here is some partial coverage on the build of my THTLP. Slideshow can be seen here... Here are some shots of it finished in the ...

Re: THT-LP plans question
Alright - let me try to simplify things a bit... In all of bill's Folded horn subs, the plans follow a similar style: There are two sides , which are identical in size and are placed opposite each other in the finished product. One side is the first piece, that virtually all other pieces are attach...

Re: THT-LP plans question
I understand it is a bit confusing until you get the project going... Which is an issue. I'm not supposed to be cutting anything until I understand everything. I'm obviously dense, as I look at this thing as a big box, with 4 long sides and 2 short sides, and a bunch of panels inside. I didn't see ...

Re: THT-LP plans question
You do not. The panels in the model are all 23 inches wide. The sides are 18 inches high. They're not panels, and are never referred to as panels in the plans. There is no FAQ or definitions included with this, so until the difference between "panel" and "side" is explained, how...

Re: THT-LP plans question
I have read the plans at least 4 times. There is an inference of what width to use but it is contradicted at least once. Basically, I'm looking for words to the effect of "pick a width, all panels will now be that width - the sketchup model is not to scale". That is why I am asking for a c...

THT-LP plans question
I've started cutting my auraco and I'm not sure I understand the plans correctly. I've cut 1 piece that is 71.5" x 18". When I look at the sketchup file, 2 sides (left & right) are 18", and the other 2 sides (top & bottom) are 24". Am I measuring that correctly - or shoul...

THT-LP with TLAH and SLA
Howdy all! Since I've actually started down this road, I thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Trent, from the great state of Texas. I love my music and have been interested/involved/watching/reading about hifi (home and auto) for a while. In high school and college I worked as an installer for a...
