Re: To bridge or not to bridge?
Thanks for doing all this. It fills in gaps in the knowledge. Can I trouble you to measure the output volts from your sources as well please? Reason I ask is various DJ mixers clip and redline higher than 1.4v zero dB. I trust you are using sine wave signal? Hi again, the laptop I was using can out...

Re: To bridge or not to bridge?
What about changing the limiter settings? Were the input gains wide open, and the input signal just below clipping? This is great information, DJ Terrabass! Thanks for doing and posting your experiment. Hi again Just finished testing the sub-synth generator @+15dB with the -6dB and -12dB limiter se...

Re: To bridge or not to bridge?
Just tested with the Xti2000's limiter set to -3dB and there wasn't any noticeable increase in voltage using the subsynth gen until about +5dB. The +15dB setting raised the peak voltages to just under 64V max, so I think if every stage in the signal chain used maximum possible gain, the voltages cou...

Re: To bridge or not to bridge?
Could you also test with adding the "sub synth" engaged? I have a feeling that will also push the voltage higher. I'll test it as soon as I get the multimeter back, I can say that the sub synth causes approximately twice the amount of excursion on my monitors at home when set to +15dB, bu...

Re: To bridge or not to bridge?
+1 that's what Bill has been suggesting for yeeaaaarrrsss. And should be one of the sayings of the forum IMO :D. Also just did some more testing with the onboard EQ and band-pass gain almost as high as it can go and found the limiter lets even more peak voltage through with that setup. The 61...

Re: To bridge or not to bridge?
This tallies with my rougher and readier testing with a basic meter and overdriven sinewaves. There has been at least one instance of 3015lf being torn up with a 3dB limited xti2000 however. Yeah it was from reading one of those posts about the 3015lf being torn on another thread which led me to do...

Re: To bridge or not to bridge?
Hi everyone, I was looking for an appropriate thread to post this and think here should be fine so here goes.... I have some findings from the Xti2000 amp from tests done earlier today. Using a QM-1500 multimeter without speakers attached to measure peak voltages for each limiter setting provided in...

Re: Amp Wattage & Titan 48 placement
Ok thanks, after messing about for a while setting the EQ's and filters again I have changed both crossover filters to 105Hz Butterworth@48dB/octave slopes and that sounds best at high SPL's.
Cheers
Matt

Re: Amp Wattage & Titan 48 placement
Hi again Well I ended up paying Harley to build both cabinets for me (Great job done btw) as there was no way I could have made them without investing quite a bit of money and space for a workshop at my current house. He has kindly sent me some of the relevant sections of the plans to look at (for V...

Re: I love my T48's
I also have to give my thanks to Bill for designing the Titan 48 :D. I have only got 1 at the moment but at the last gig I had it produced enough bass to fill the whole marquee with 350 people in it! Plenty of people there came up to me just to comment on the kick that it gives you in the stomach up...

Re: Amp Wattage & Titan 48 placement
Thanks again to the people responding on here :hyper: So right now I have got an XTi2000 to power both the sub and the DR250 top I have. Could someone please give me good frequencies for: The low-pass filter for the Titan 48? The high-pass filter for the DR250? And a good crossover point for them to...

Re: Amp Wattage & Titan 48 placement
Alright, thanks for the fast & useful responses here :) I did read the sub placement thread but I have a pretty major gig coming up in a few weeks and don't think I'll be able to build both sub's by then so I was just wondering on the best way to place one of them before I could get 2 completed ...

Amp Wattage & Titan 48 placement
Hi to all I am a noob on this forum so feel free to move my post if you think this is in the wrong section here :D So here's the story... I have just started DJ-ing locally and was looking to upgrade my current pa system to BFM speakers, so to start with I'm getting 2 DR250's and 2 24" wide Tit...
