Re: Davids for Tom

Gonna follow this one closely.. Not often people build davids and not at all with this amount of tools - envy! :hyper: Exactly, thank for taking the time to post good pictures... I just picked up plans for the Davids yesterday. This was going to be my winter project. I will also be watching how you...

Re: Jack 15

I run a pair of Jack 15's W/ 3015's. They weigh in at just under 45 lbs each. I use them for PA applications and also serve as my current home audio mains. I don't experience any "coloration" of sound. The cab is very clear. I can only speak for the 3015's but those Kappalites don't change...

Ah, Cereal City! It's only a 2 hour drive for me, and would have been fun. I might have even brought along my T39s for a direct comparison!

Re: 4 Tuba 30 @ 24" Delta LFA Build Up "V" Plate Complete

I can only fit two Tubas and two Jack 15's in my minivan (rear seats removed) I put the other two Tubas on my BBQ trailer to haul them to Michigan. And you didn't even invite me ??? :x    :hyper: :noob: :loler:  Still, glad it all worked well for you. Invite you...

Re: 4 Tuba 30 @ 24" Delta LFA Build Up "V" Plate Complete

I just got back from the big summer BBQ. Everything worked great! I played mostly classic rock due to the crowd, all ages from 87 to 4 years old. I did do some testing with a decibel meter. A 60 Hz tone at 6 feet at full war volume was running at about 117 db. At 75 feet I was holding at 109 db. Thi...

Re: 4 Tuba 30 @ 24" Delta LFA Build Up

Worked hard on the Tubas over the weekend. Got the V plate built and finished. Put a nice round-over all around the plate and bought a piece of 1/2 inch cold rolled pipe stock. I used a porta-band to cut the pipe in 1/2" and 3/4" sleeves for the tubas and V plate respectively. This will en...

Re: 4 Tuba 30 @ 24" Delta LFA Build Up

I was at 90 Hz, 48dB/octave but usually like a little lower x-over frequency. The built in limiters on the Drivecore 2000xls driving my tops were kicking in due to the low end and at 75Hz would have been even worse. Always be ready to adjust on the fly. The best thing is to know your gear well and ...

Re: 4 Tuba 30 @ 24" Delta LFA Build Up

I have been building this entire rig to have great sound at some parties I throw. My next big ordeal is on July 7th, so I have been tuning the system and working out the details. I now have a basic mixer (( A Behringer Xenyx 1204 USB, http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/1204USB.aspx ) and a DI box ...

Re: DJ Mixers with XLR Outputs

Could also grab a stereo DI and run whatever mixer you want. That is if you 'must' have balanced XLR from a non balance source. EDIT: http://www.audiopile.net/products/DI_Boxes/DI_Boxes.shtml (Thanks, J_Dunavin) I have a couple of these for when I need to bring non-balanced stereo source into the b...

Re: DBX Driverack PA+ Control Lock

Now (until the thread is purged) people can find the answer while perusing their favorite sound forum without downloading manuals or what have you. That's a pretty pathetic way to go about it. Since when did reading a manual become prioritized after doing quick google searches. Read the manual your...

Re: DBX Driverack PA+ Control Lock

Thus, the emoticons..... Often hard to discern "how" something is said with written word. I wasn't sure how to take the post either. One little :) makes it easier to "see" your face while reading the words. Hope it all worked out. It worked fine Bruce, Thanks to you, Grant and T...

Re: How about a design for a boombox?

Also off the reservation: A friend of mine made a "Podzuma" It sounds great and has a decent battery life for a lead acid battery. It is used at the pool or at tailgates. I looked for a while into using LiPo Batteries (Lithium Polymer) like the ones I have for my RC cars and boat. Huge pow...

Re: DBX Driverack PA+ Control Lock

So many posts for such a simple answer. In order to make this thread searchable and answer the question easily, here is the summary: To engage the DBX Driverack PA+ lock function, press and hold the "RTA" button during powerup, this will drop you into a system lock menu, use the selector ...
