Re: Peavy IPR with T48/DR250
Thanks for the input. I think I will go with two of the 3000's. The cost difference is a few dollars but I think it is well worth it. At least there isn't a weight difference anymore.

Peavy IPR with T48/DR250
I currently have two T48s and two DR250s but plan on doubling the size of the system. I am looking at replacing my current amps with two Peavey IPRs. I'm wondering if I should buy 2 of the 3000's or 1 - 3000 and 1 - 1600? I am using the Behringer DCX for crossover and limiting.

I still have two Turbosound speakers and they have xlr for power input.AntonZ wrote:I once had a bass guitar cab with XLR sockets for speaker connection. Very bad idea. Don't do that.

Couldn't find it at Lowes when I looked over the weekend... Hope they bring in the 1/2" - think I'll ask next time I'm there to see if I can special order it.BoostFab wrote:I guess due to competition, they have to offer Arauco like Lowes. I'm sure they will bring in 1/2" soon.

Re: Real Arauco Plywood at Home Depot
My HD has arauco too but only 3/4" I have to go to Lowe's to get 1/2". I've only seen them have this "Cabinet Grade" wood once before in the five years I've been shopping there. I was amazed - I bought the stuff since it looked pretty good and didn't know it was the name brand s...

Re: Bulk Cable
Big concern about using a zip type or other cable is if it goes inside the wall/ceiling/floor. Wire installed in home or business needs to be class 2 wiring if it's inside the structure. You can do whatever you want but code calls for class 2 to be used in these instances. Just thought I would add t...

Re: A question for the guys in the US
You misunderstood my meaning. It wasn't that there aren't bad guys with the patience and skill to find a chink in some armor, but that there are also plenty of bad guys that are barely smart enough to tie their shoes. I think we've all seen stories of desperate criminals that weren't very good at t...

Re: Yet another plywood dillema (THT)
've been at several local cabinet makers. Any 12mm (1/2") ply I sow had very slender veneer kind of ply as sides. I think I've red somewhere that that kind of ply is no good for loudspeaker usage. Anyway, If I have to use 18mm (3/4") ply... Should I also use 18mm (3/4") ply for brace...

I worked security for a federal agency and it's amazing what is available. What's more amazing is the access to and type of technology that some private companies have. Places like Disney, the large Casinos, the NFL and other large sporting events have reportedly been using facial recognition and ot...

Re: This is what I played through yesterday....
From the pic it looks like it's a split sub system? It's a 5-way. I didn't ask the crossover points, but it was all active crossovers. If you mean were the subs split - yes. Didn't notice any nulls anywhere...... Actually meant to ask both with the variety there... Nice that you didn't have to set ...

Re: Rental advice
When I was working in the music store we would rent but it usually ended up being at 15-20% of the sell price of the speakers/amp if they were looking for a large weekend rental, we'd do the $50/weekend rental on the all-in-one Fender or Messenger system. We would also allow the rent to apply the re...
