Re: Low cost Class D pro plate amps.

Enjoying the discussion so far! I was toying with the idea of a plate amp recently for my subs. I picked up a salvaged plate amp from a JBL SRX815P cabinet a few months ago for $50. I estimated that I could run up to (4) T39's off of it, but I can't install it in any of my current cabs. So, if I bu...

Re: DR280

Great. Probably will need 2 amps for the 6 dr and 3 amps for the 12 t60, 2 cabs per channel.

Re: DR280

Are you going to expand to 12x DR280 and 12x T60 - like that impressive BF "kraken system" at Esthetic Evolution festival, under the "crown" theme dome tent stage?

Re: DR280

The QSC GX5 are class H topology so they're about 15 pounds heavier (per amp) that the usual light touring amps. https://www.qsc.com/live-sound/products/power-amplifiers/gx-series/gx5/ For the lightest go class D. Why not standardize and add more Crest 5.0 ... with DSP for added flexibility? Danley ...

Re: New Tuba 60 Owner!

You should make two quiet boxes for your two generators. This'll improve your apparent loudness because of the much quieter noise coming from generators.

Re: DR piezos question

But I do have a box of about 100 GRS laying around ready for projects. Do I need to sell them I wonder and replace with Goldwood. The Goldwood is the one to get as you discovered in your tests, it extends to a lower frequency. You could probably ask P-E if they would take the GRS's back for a retur...

James Champer,
You can produce radio shows streaming to youtube like this, where you pan zoom and live cut from camera to camera ?

Re: DR280

i can't find any dr280s for sale and new will take a long time to build. If you really want a dr280 fast, speakerhardware has for sale the dr280 flat pack, the dr280 deluxe peizo kit, and the duratex paint. Probably a lot faster than searching for a second hand dr280, that could take endless hours ...

Re: Let me introduce you to "THE KRAKEN"

Here's a video clip, with pretty decent sound, from that exact sound system, at night, with fire spinners, watch the entire thing, the cameraman walks from far away up to the front.

Re: New Tuba 60 Owner!

And I have my limiter at about 80v it does seem to go off a lot. I was told they can handle 110v max should I up it slightly or leave it? The limit for series wired Lab12's is 100v From the Eminence page on power handling: "The Eminence power rating is derived using an EIA 426A noise source and tes...

Re: New Tuba 60 Owner!

Sweet thank you I'll definitely try and grab the 360 soon then. The wireless software is fun! I downloaded it on my tablet. And I have my limiter at about 80v it does seem to go off a lot. I was told they can handle 110v max should I up it slightly or leave it? Also should i use the +4 db or -10 db...

Re: Crossover frequency does matter

It wouldn't be of any use as I would EQ every system to sound as good as could be. There just isn't the time or inclination on my part to do this properly in a non-reflective setting with three different systems. Anyway, those graphs are available on the internet. I'm just making a subjective analy...

Grant, about pricing and product, your feedback would be a help: Which features would you require? Which features would you like to have but not absolutely require? How much would you be interested in paying? I've tried to say more than once elsewhere here in the forum I'm not interested. Unless th...

Re: Crossover frequency does matter

Well, it's a slow Easter Sunday here on the forum.....so, I though I'd start a little discussion. First, an observation concerning different speakers in the same room. I have run sound in a particular venue here in town several times - pretty evenly split between a rented system that a provider bri...
