Re: Dirty little secret I hope everyone else here shares

Don't assume your ply is square from the factory.
Check your diagonals are equal before cutting.

Some microphones pick up from the rear quite well, so pointing them directly away from monitor makes it worse!

Re: New THT Build

You fellas haven't seen the youtube of two THT bouncing the candles clear off the table upstairs. Should be compulsory viewing before planning twins.

Re: D-Fend Settings??

Afaik T39 has no Fb, at least not in any useful sense. Only the THT suppresses its own excursion as frequency drops lower. The rest only proceed to shred themselves as frequency drops and power maintained.

Iirc, 3012lf takes 60v @ 45hz if you feel like going for gold. 55v is safer.

Re: Jack 10 & TAT for bass rig

I have a similarly potent overachiever sub with gto1014d. It can't keep up with DR250, but the rig carries medium volume bar gigs. A DR250 at war volume is not appropriate anyway! A T39 is a better choice if you can cart it. One J10 is all you'll need for a top. So long as your placement is good you...

Better to store ply flat on the floor than leaning to, it can get a warp going like that.

Re: First proper outing for the rig :)

Interesting read. Bear in mind your under bridge setup had little to no boundary reinforcement. Bringing it indoors and wall loading is equivalent to doubling the entire stack. Add v-plating ftw. The system is down 6dB at the nominated highpass frequency. Don't underestimate the bulk of T48 for floo...

Somewhere in the youtube section is a blue sedan doing a AT demo, should be enough to inspire.

The diy circular saw sled makes very accurate cutting possible, for next to nothing in materials. Fine tooth blade on the saw!

Re: Reservation Tuba 24 Build

I wonder if you may have been working off ply that wasn't squarely cut in the factory. It isn't necessary to go to such extreme fuss if your panels are properly square.

Re: First Omni 15 Full Range build...

So long as you finish with all your thumbs... On that theme you want to build a panel cutting jig as well, much safer. There is some stuff to know about how to not get in the firing line of a kickback and keeping thumbs intact. It would be a good job for Harley to write up a guide, he had a close ca...

Re: Bass cab head

How much do you want to spend? Peavey are everywhere, in the UK you have locally made older Ashdown and Trace Elliot, probably MarkBass at better prices than over here. EQ shaping is the go for Jacks, a simple bass mid treble probably won't win fans.

The difference between 10V and 20V is more like 6dB output.
