Re: Bose Packlite A1

Somebody posted a link to an audiophile challenge offering up some huge prize to anyone who could identify their own hi fi power amp equalised for output gain. Entry fee was modest but you had to a/b it many many times to take out the random guesser. Nodody had won. So any power amp should do fine ...

Bose Packlite A1

Just picked up a Bose Packlite A1 for a steal, 250w @4ohm power amp.
Looking forward to putting it through it's paces on my O10.5!
(I play double bass through a fishman pro pre-amp.)

anyone else out there messed with one of these little guys?

Re: My Omni 10 and Omni 10.5 Bass Stack

I can't hear them from mid-Missouri but I agree that they look good. Nice work! Not a bad bass. either... Thanks. I got the bass for $75 back in the mid-nineties. It paid to have a bandmate who worked at a music store that took in trades... Wait, that's an original '69 P-bass? Man. Jealous. ...

Re: Dual T18 vs Dual T39 (aka bass on the cheap)

I find this topic interesting. But I have a question or two. I am a newbie and I just finished my first BFM cab. Skeptical at first but WOW. I am seriously looking to build 2 t-39's to replace my 18" subs for my band and pack space is always an issue. Should I build 4 T-18's for the price and ...

Re: Omni 10 as Bass Stage Monitor

Couldn't agree more.
I've used my O10.5 the same way for gigs with PA support.
I can hear just fine without even cranking it up much at all. (Which is good, 'cause my upright feeds back like a biotch when I have the O10.5 pointed at it even from 20+ feet away. :D

Re: Safer and quicker way to cut piezos

Does this look like it would work? It's cheap from this site. way cheap. http://store02.prostores.com/servlet/jbdemostore/the-11/DEWALT-DW718-Heavy-dsh-Duty-15/Detail That's sketchy... Doesn't look like a real store, and that's a $700 saw. I wouldn't expect to receive it, especially since it's call...

Re: T18 and Omni 10.5 review

I added the 3" to the depth so I could add the speakon connector to the front and not worry about leaks in the horn. The pic below gives you an idea of the "dead space" where the speakon and T -nut for the V plate go. see the post about a 1/3 of the way down the thread... Ah, rgr. :D...

So they're standard T18's? WHat's the extra 3" thing?

Re: Safer and quicker way to cut piezos

Chris, whats wrong with Bill's design. Nothing, I just don't want to get my fingers anywhere near a spinning blade and I don't want to cut anything that isn't secure. Just personal preference. Using the sled requires you to remove the guard which is something else I'm not going to do. Totally wise ...

Re: Safer and quicker way to cut piezos

I just use a crosscut sled with a stopblock on it, works great for me. Set it for your first cut, slap a piezo on, bzzzz, slap in a fresh piezo, repeat. Reset the block for your next cut. Wash, rinse, repeat. Use a stick to hold them for the tricky cuts, but honestly if you're careful you can just h...

Re: Bass player building Omni 15

Heya, welcome to the forum!

If I may be the devil's advocate for a second here...
Since you're playing a lot of 5 string with lots of low Bs, I'd strongly consider doing a T48 with a big top, like an OT12 or OT15, but ideally a DR250.

With the drivers used... The T18 will continue to outperform the T39. 55-2421's are 'rated' at 125watts, and 55-1740's are 'rated' at 150. Neither one would I want to push much over 25-35 volts on a continual basis. As it is, at 12 volts, I'm pushing 34watts across 2 drivers. (17 watts each) buy on...

They have difficulty weight lifting as well, not grasping the concept of clean and jerk as opposed to the opposite order.

keep us posted on your progress working out the kinks!
I'm considering a T18 to put under my O10.5 for a fuller mini upright bass rig, so I'm definitely interested in how they mesh. :D
