Re: Behringer EPQ 900
I quote: "It takes huge pulses of energy (current and voltage) to propel a woofer cone out fast enough to match a bass beat. That’s called Transient Response and it’s the holy grail of amp designers. By carefully selecting transistors with extremely high slew rates and optimizing other proprie...

Re: Crown XTi 1000 - good for a Tuba HT?
Well I guess I'll find out soon how little power this needs! I was going to get the XTi 1000 used for $275. My alternative is either a 1124p or a minDSP for EQ, following by an EPQ-1200 or something like that, so such a combo actually costs more. But I guess I'll start by powering it with an unused ...

Re: Crown XTi 1000 - good for a Tuba HT?
Yeah, neither can a 1124p though.
I was more concerned about the power drop at low frequencies.

Crown XTi 1000 - good for a Tuba HT?
Hi all, I have seen many threads about the Crown XTi 1000, but none of them mention its problem driving 4 ohms loads at low frequencies. It is said to max out at 20 Volts into 4 ohms (100W) at 20 Hz. http://www.crownaudio.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2438 It this not an issue with dynamic content?...

Re: Table Tuba build!!
Ahh! Panel 5! If it's like the THT, that was also my panel from hell. The angle makes it so hard to line up with panel 1. Patience is required here.

Re: Table Tuba build!!
Only by the volume of the ring...Then it'll mess up the horn dimension
Now I'm confused. In your previous post you worried about MDF crumbling...If using t nuts no need for the ring. The ring is really if he's just going to go with wood screws.

Re: Table Tuba build!!
How about constructing a ring made of plywood, glue it on the opposite side to the driver and install T-nuts into that plywood?

Re: myn's Tuba HT Build Thread
Strange. I didn't see them yesterday. They were replaced with the word "image" or "picture" (something like that).
That's a relief!

Re: myn's Tuba HT Build Thread
Too bad... This was possibly the best thread to show and explain the details of a THT build and the images are gone.
