I have built a THT and purchased a EP4000 that is connected via an rca -> xlr adapter from an Onkyo RC180. I have a Panasonic XR57 receiver and a Crown XTI1000 amp to drive my sub. I have an RCA -> XRL adapter and I do get some output from the sub.
