As for the EQ cut its just EQ cut at 300-700 on the good sounding response I got in my house with the cab on the floor.

So from a practical perspective would it be fair to say that for useage of cabinets in a room where between 110 and 140dB are expected the most common EQ adjustment should be to cut by 6-10dB with a fairly wide Q at 3.5kHz?

Well if its for live I think many of the best options have already been recommended, but if its for Studio recording I believe very small diaphragm Omni pattern condensers are quite a good choice.
