Re: Titan 48x8 build

I have a gx3 and my band leader used a gx5 for our monitor mix. Never had a problem with them. I know some of the "lightweight" amps can have issues. (It's usually because the venue has sketchy wiring.) I'll let other chime in on which ones. I prefer old iron for the subs, but I'd use the ...

I'd remove it for painting. Why take a chance? Easier to move the cab around without the extra wieght.

Re: DJ Insurance and Business License

I don't have all the answers for you but I would suggest contacting an insurance agent to help you out. Tell them what you need to have covered (your equipment) and ask what would be needed for liability. FYI, as a sole proprietor if you get sued, they can come after your personal property because y...

Re: Alesis MEQ 230 EQ

Would it be a good move to incorporate my MEQ 230 into my rack with my DCX-2496 ? It could be. I think grabbing a slider is easier then navigating menues. Im reading some things on the forum thats leading me to believe it would help to flatten my system better by mirror imaging it from the SPL char...

Make sure you give yourself some credit. It sounds like you and your wife really get into these dances and put a lot of effort and time into making them great. Hats off to you, sir.

I'd recommend getting the CD with all the plans. It's worth the money and you will more then likely get hooked like we are on building. Why waste time and second guess yourself?

Re: Wedgehorn 10 Review

Monitors shouldn't be that hard to EQ. Having to RTA them everytime you go someplace new would be a real pain. And there just isn't the time available before a gig to spend on monitors - not when it is usually a 30 second fix to get 'em sounding good. I wasn't suggesting using an RTA for every gig....

Re: Wedgehorn 10 Review

That's too bad Bruce. I was hoping you'd get that figured out. I would not give up yet. Beg and borrow an RTA and try to find what the differance is between the two. It might just be a few frequencies that are causing the precieved muddiness. Like others have said, the fact the W10's go lower might ...

Re: Light bar bracket

I have read that a lot of people think the Colorstrips and the ADJ Megapixels are too bright. You could add some window tinting film to shade then a bit. I may do that to mine. I hear it works great. You should be able to pick some up at any car parts store.

BTW, nice bracket!

Re: New Jack 12s: Low bass output

If you are running two cabs and you are getting low bass output, I would think that is a polarity issue. Recheck your wiring. I can knock stuff off the wall with my two Jack 112's.
