I've built the Velleman kit.
Now I've tested it, I'll try to set into a piece of wood. Once I've worked out the best way of doing that, I'll attack the Jack 10 Lite
At first it didn't seem to work, until I realised that the Jack was too loud before we saw any lights!

Re: Volt meters.
A row of those in a rack would allow you to monitor each cab, very useful with multiple muso's plugging in to your system.
Let us know how they go.

Re: Volt meters.
An interesting idea. I've just had a quick look online and found a few meters, but most seem to be powered from the measured voltage, which would be problematic . Even if it had enough smoothing to work, I'm not sure what it would do to the amp or sound. Having a small meter on the back of each cab ...

Re: Jack 10 Lite build
Driver installed, filter panels bypassed. The HF bypass is 1.5mm cable, the rest of the cab is 2.5mm cable. https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5237/14092315126_5bb5e1810c.jpg When funds allow, a compression horn will be fitted with the filters. Testing with a tone generator & 300w PA amp https://far...

Re: Jack 10 Lite build
I found a few bits I wasn't happy with this morning, so out came the sander
Now I'm waiting for the rollers to dry out so I can have another go.

The two tweeters have come from the Omni 10.5 and will be in there until I have the time and money to put something else in!

Re: I wish I had the opertunity to silence the critics!
Two shocking stories I was trying to repair an FM receiver, and ended up in the situation where I had to have the thing running, plugged into an amp, with the casing open. The only bit of the casing that would open was the bottom cover, so I had the unit sat on my lap, upside down. I had it in my he...

Re: Jack 10 Lite build
Unfortunately, that shop is closer to jools than me, and will have a lot of traffic today, it's a stones throw from Silverstone. Now I've had my one day in a pro shop, I'm back to my 10' x 8' shed :-( If I want to use the table saw, I have to go outside! The work table is covered with the tools I'm ...

Re: Jack 10 Lite build
The short horns are now in. The top had to be shaped in place with a craft saw. I realised the problem is with the BB. The nearest we could get is 4mm, which is more difficult to bend. The lower small horn had to have a cutout for the top hat, so while doing that, I scored the underside with a knife...

Jack 10 Lite build
Now that my wife has got used to the Omni 10.5 (covered in living room carpet so she won't notice!) I thought I'd have a go at a Jack 10 Lite. I bought an old table saw and made a sled, but then remembered that my brother now owns a company that makes composite moulds for Formula 1 racing teams, so ...
