Re: Second BFM Build: 2 x J12 Lites
Just as an aside, and it kinda sounds like you've written it off, but why not try to contact the shipping company and see if they will spring for some money off. Not sure of how it works over there but even a simple two minute email with the picture attached that you provided us might yield some res...

Re: SLA PRO with Dayton PA6's in White
Also, the only problem with having the grills as I put them, you have to cut off one of the lips to get to it because they are now encapsulated into the cab. Not a major issue, as I can run them standing on the table saw and make a nice clean cut and slide the grills out, and replace the piece with ...

Re: SLA PRO with Dayton PA6's in White
Agreed. I cant seem to find the same pattern online but I did find a somewhat similar one with a little smaller holes and it was in the low 40's. Definitely not where I want to be, even if I'm a little closer to 50. Not great, not ideal but Ill see if I might be able to find something that will work...

Re: Motorcycle restorations/chops here!
Sweet! I have way too many hobbies and I just started into building bikes as well. I will most likely get rid of this one, once I get it running right. I think it needs a new TCI. Rode it yesterday but had to make a pit stop due to stalling. Started life as a 1983 Yamaha XV750 Virago. Took off a bun...

Re: SLA PRO with Dayton PA6's in White
Definitely something I was worried about. Hence the test. There wasnt anything on the tab or shelve that indicated its openess. Ill try and do some research on it.

Re: SLA PRO with Dayton PA6's in White
Ok well, the gig is in a few weeks. Finally getting around to finishing these. I'm also working on a table top facade that will be back lit for a great effect and to cover a little of the dj workings going on. Speakers test fit and glue tweets. Crossovers inserted and nailed down. http://i2.photobuc...

Re: SLA PRO with Dayton PA6's in White
Ok all, Its been a few weeks and I have been crazy busy with work and other hobbies. I currently have the bottoms attached and all the crossover components wired and in the box. I am going to be using a sheet of perforated metal from HD or Lowes to use as the grills. I just need to find a way to cut...

Re: Protecting speakers at the beach
I would put a tarp or a piece of plywood down and set them on top of it. If you're worried about sand kicking up into the speakers from the wind or whatever, wrap the speakers in bed sheets. It will protect the speakers just enough but still let the sound pass through just fine. Along these lines I...

Re: SLA PRO with Dayton PA6's in White
Stock length. Came out from the baffle just a scosch over 1/2" out. That way if I move up to the Alpha's then I dont have to worry about the surrounds hitting. The XMAX appeared to be more than the Dayton's when I compared the technical specs. I really like the wrap around grill that someone ha...

Re: SLA PRO with Dayton PA6's in White
Looking good so far. It's nice to see you thinking through all of your options and "what-ifs?" A word on Reliable: They do good work, but they are slow. It took them two weeks to ship out (to ship, not the total time to my door) 4 simple unbent grills for my OTops. Not sure if you're on a...

Re: SLA PRO with Dayton PA6's in White
Thank you. Much like some of the southern states run into the heat here this week is in the oppressive range. Difference is is that we Mainah's arent used to it. 8) Still feels good though. Today i will probably get the baffles installed and the sides put on. Gotta make sure Im not making to much of...

Re: SLA PRO with Dayton PA6's in White
Oh yeah, and I am contemplating building a set of stands that would be about 4 feet tall and would look like a truss except without all the cross braces, just a single extra pole up the middle. The layout of the poles will look like you were looking down on a dice with the number 5 showing. I would ...
