Well blow me down if the crossover component layouts aren't right there in the sketchup file.
What an excellent reference that is for being the last word.

Re: 2 x DR200 on no budget and borrowed tools
Thank you Mr BFM. I will rip apart those models a little more. Second supports finished and trimmed to size. Using a guide for a circular saw made this simple. https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2934/14306892322_f3b3c8f71c_n.jpg Adding the infamous butt cheeks was a lot more straightforward than I thoug...

Re: 2 x DR200 on no budget and borrowed tools
Mr Tom, I'm going for the half-back as the thing is damn heavy at the moment. Thanks for the advice, I'll go through the plastic pipe when I get to wiring up the box. No clear idea how to layout the crossovers, why no photos of example component positioning? I'm used to constructing 0605 surface-mou...

Re: 2 x DR200 on no budget and borrowed tools
Gluing up the tweeter module. Towards the end of the "how to" document, measurements get less frequent and there are more "fit it to the size you have" statements. Slows things down a lot but each cabinet is the sum of many slight differences by this point. Or maybe that's just m...

Re: 2 x DR200 on no budget and borrowed tools
I'm leaving out the entirely scary and dangerous "splitting the Schedule 40 pipe" episode because DAMN do they have some bite on them. Docs fail to mention there are handy lines on the inside of the tube that helps enormously with alignment of the cut. DO NOT forget the 1/8" shim, oh ...

Re: 2 x DR200 on no budget and borrowed tools
This project is now officially the most complicated thing I have ever made from wood, and we haven't even got to adding the pipe yet.
Still nervous about destroying tweeters but can't stop now. Forwards!

Re: 2 x DR200 on no budget and borrowed tools
One house move, youngest kid at preschool, I find myself between jobs with a little time to spare. I may be slow but darnit I'm gonna finish.

Re: 2 x DR200 on no budget and borrowed tools
Update from the weekend. This is the last week the family is away visiting Grandparents, so progress will probably slow from now (can it go any slower?) Also, my posts may sound like I'm down on everything but that's just my English sense of humor. Don't mind me, I'm actually enjoying messing around...

2 x DR200 on no budget and borrowed tools
Hi, humbly submitting my own build currently in motion, in which I think I have made every mistake possible so far: Step 1 was to build the sawhorses and assemble a workshop. So I'm a little behind already. After years of neglect in the garage in the NW climate, neighbors table saw seems to have sei...

Re: How to cut handles?
I'll take pics of my jig when I get home. Please, that would be great. Sounds exactly the jig I need to make. A picture would help me understand how to cut the frame of the the jig correctly so that all I need is edge alignment to get the handle in the right place every time, whether it's the panel...

How to cut handles?
Excuse my ignorance here. I've been learning a lot by making every possible mistake on my first "sacrificial" T30 and I think I'm getting a little better at woodwork now. One thing still mystifies me - how to cut perfect handles? My access panel was a circular saw plunge cut finished off w...
