Hi everybody!
I haven't been around in a while, but just wanted to chime back in and say hellp. I'm still staying really busy, and this advice is still holding true in every application. Ya'll have a nice Thanksgiving!

Re: 6 Tuba 45s
I would LOVE to hear your six T45's and DR's man...that is awesome! It's unbelievable what those will do when they're fed the content. I get the rare chance this weekend to possibly use my four T30's at a large indoor venue for a wedding. Most of my indoor venues are smaller so just use the two narr...

Re: Single Best Piece of Advice EVER
Hey everybody, It's been a long time since I posted here. I'm still gigging of course, but I've gotten much more into production, recording, mixing, etc in the past few years. Just today I've moved my mixing desk to a supposedly horrible room. 22 x 9 x 8 rectangle room of concrete floor, sheetrock a...

Corner loading subs and avoiding the no go zone. I'm just shocked every time...can't believe how uniform and level the bass is through the whole room.

Re: 8 x DR250 build
I've got one of those NU4-6000's and I've been very happy with it. I've used it with my OT12's and four Tuba 30's.CoronaOperator wrote:All powered by dcx/deq 2496 and a single nu4-6000 amplifier. It was also very loud and had to be turned down because this was a side room and it was drowning out the main room.

Just gorgeous, gorgeous. I'm not up to building these but have a case of gear lust. Would love to hear these things in action.

Re: New Mixer Thoughts
Hey everybody, Guys I'm feeling really blessed. I'm at my first gig with the 16.0.2 and DriveRack PA2...both brand new to me and the DR2 being controlled from an iPad. I know lot's of you all have been doing that, but this is my first time and it rocks! Got the sound just like I want. Didn't evenin...

Incredibly helpful and useful stuff here.Bill Fitzmaurice wrote:But don't go by 'A' weighting alone. Make sure that you use 'C' weighting as well, and that it doesn't read more than 15dB more than what the 'A' does.doncolga wrote:I'm a little paranoid about this type of thing.

I limit the DJ's to 105 dBA That can leave you vulnerable to lawsuits, unless you're only open for an hour a day: PERMISSIBLE NOISE EXPOSURES (1) ______________________________________________________________ Duration per day, hours | Sound level dBA slow response __________________________________...

How Loud?
How loud are most concerts and clubs? At my wedding events I keep the dance floor at about 88-90 dB A for the dancing. That seems to be loud enough...people dance and very rarely ask me to turn it up. Just curious because I've heard of some levels a lot higher than that. I try to be careful for ever...

Re: Speakons; Just use the screws or solder them?
I've had two failures in two weeks now with my speakon jacks. Do you guys just use the screws with them or take the screws out and solder the wires in? (12 gauge wire) I screw 'em in with no solder. The only time I've ever had one come apart was when someone was "helping" me tear down aft...
