Hahahaha - the truth hurts. As a guitarist for 60 years and having been fortunate to speak to many really good players - you are spot on with that analysis - and the good players do exactly what you're saying.

But it looks like your message didn't go down well - this thread died a death ! haha!!

Re: Which 15" speaker???

But fortunately even your mum will have a Windows computer somewhere mate. Win is great for scopi out all sorts of speakers and designs. But basically Bills designs are the best around so just pick one and build it. I'm also a bass player (and guiarist) and you'll find the 3015 or its LF version abs...

Re: Will This Router Do?

Very true, it forgotten all the time by the majority of players and DJs. Bets way here to get cover and a lawyer if you need one, is to join the Musicians Union. We get third party liability and if you ended up in court they would supply you with a lawyer as well. Fortunately we're not so litigious ...

Re: Will This Router Do?

OK it's not really free as you pay for it through tax, but as everone pays it feels free. It's the same anywhere in Europe, so you can go to any European Union country and get 'free' care. Culturally you system looks pretty scarey. Which is why so often Brits will work in the USA but retire to Europ...

Re: Will This Router Do?

Sounds good. Get the best you can guys. In the UK we can get free health care - so chop your hand and you just have to toddle off to Emergency and Accidents and they'll fix you up. They'll even have a Beyonce look-alike stroke you furrowed brow whilst a Julia Roberts look-alike sews you up. Isn't fr...

Re: Will This Router Do?

+1 That's pretty much what I do as well. You need to keep the bit from cutting the face of the ply. Of course you can do two passes at it from both angles so you don't ever see and adge to your rounding. I think the routing is the most difficult part of building. It's so easy to get it wrong - not t...

Re: Will This Router Do?

What I mean Radian is that if you push the router round the cab edge the wrong way the bit chips out pieces from the edge. You have to keep the edge to the right to stop this happening - I think - please someone correct me if that's wrong. If the router goes the other way it tends to pull out pieces...

Re: Will This Router Do?

+1 That's so annoying when you have to go back and fill a chip. However if you are covering with carpet or tolez your routing doesn't have to be varnished furniture quality anyway. It's a nice to have not a must have.

Re: Will This Router Do?

I've used a 1/4" shafted 1/2" radius round router that cost about $40 new - it's never used for anything else. But I had to go real slowly and carefully. That's a pretty big bit to drive so mind how you go. If you are making lots of cabs its just not up to the job - but a couple every 6 mo...
