Re: J12 3012HO first night out

I would prefer a bit more low end which may come once the driver is broken in. I feel an itch to build another one (or 2) coming on...... god help me. A 3 x 12 Jack stack would be incredible. Adding more cabs will probably get you the "bit more low end" you are looking for. I know getting...

Re: Guitar Amp Issue

I think it's an issue with the tubes that pick up the radio signals. He could try replacing the tubes. That's kinda what I was thinking. Tubes are probably four years old, but the amp doesn't get used that often. How cold was it? Did he leave the amp in a cold car for an extended period? Going from...

Guitar Amp Issue

First off, I'm a bass player not a guitarist so I don't know much about guitar amps. At a show this weekend our guitarist set up his rig and it started making noise. It was kinda squealy, and making crackling noises like a bad cable would make. It almost sounded like some sort of radio interference....

I thought about that but I always seem to be rearranging stuff and drilling out pop rivets is kinda a pain.

Re: Amp rack breakout panel

The worst part of making connection panels is getting the tiny little nuts on the tiny little screws that hold the connectors into the panel.

Re: OCD cable management

It's clever. Not something that I would use as a live sound guy. If I were going to make it I would look at a cheap tool box instead of the sterlite box cuz like you said, those are pretty brittle, especially if they get cold.

Re: Hello from Iowa!

Hi neighbor! I'm in Iowa City. Iv got a old peavey CS-800 I'd like to use for my home stereo. Since your close, do you have any speakers for sale which would match the CS-800 well? Sorry, I've only built pro sound stuff, and I don't have anything to sell. A CS-800 is a bit of overkill for a home st...

Allowing substitution of DJ for musician in a number of cases and you could probably use this description to describe 90% of the people here. In other words you should fit in well. Welcome!

Re: Hello from Iowa!

Thanks everyone. I'm from the Des Moines area. I don't get out that way with my system, but let me know if you ever get out this way and we have something lined up. So you are from the Buckeye state, and the Capitol to boot! The Buckeye state would be Ohio. Like Ohio, we have a vowel at the front a...

I have built cabs with ply that had pretty massive voids. Never been a problem for me. PL does wonders.

Not a WH10, a J112 Lite!! Then maybe a second one for that extra bit to push over the top when needed.
