Re: SLA Pro Questions....
Sorry about the thread necro. I have a some n00b questions about using those planar tweeters in the SLA pros. Should I wire them in series or parallel? What if I used 3 per cabinet? Is that a better idea than 2 per? I'm using the Eminence PX2-3K5 crossover, will I need to use the L-pad to attenuate...

Lookin' good Chris. When you build them that fast, they're supposed to look worse than mine. Damn you.

Re: Autotuba for collegebound sister
Oh and my vote is tnuts over hnuts, installing them just takes a drill and a hammer. No need for epoxy. I fear you'll come to rue the day you said that. Haha... I was lucky enough to escape any ill-consequence when using a hammer to install my first set of T-nuts. Just curious, all you experi...

Re: Understanding of Voltage
You've kinda got it upside down. If your amp is capable of producing voltage swings of 50v it doesnt matter if the speaker is 4 ohm or 1000 ohm, it will still see 50v. However, the amount of wattage your amp is able to put into the speaker is dependent on the impedance - so that means, an amp that ...

Re: Understanding of Voltage
according to the voltage calculator on http://www.the12volt.com: 400 W x 8 Ohms=56.5 Volts 400 W x 4 Ohms=40 Volts 300 W x 8 Ohms=49 Volts 300 W X 4 Ohms=35 Volts So i was taught that with a parallel load,the voltage would be the same across both speakers but the parallel load also changes the impe...

Re: DBX Driverack PA+ Control Lock
Now (until the thread is purged) people can find the answer while perusing their favorite sound forum without downloading manuals or what have you. That's a pretty pathetic way to go about it. Since when did reading a manual become prioritized after doing quick google searches. Read the manual your...

Yes, I know. Please do not print this out and hang it on your wall without my consent. Thanks.subharmonic wrote:Thanks Bill.
GHD you have some mad drawing skills. Maybe a bigger smile and the hair being blown back more would have been more descriptive.

I would guess this has something to do with it:subharmonic wrote:How does that affect listening distance?Bill Fitzmaurice wrote: And being a line source you can't get an accurate measurement unless the mic is at least four times the array height distant. preferably more.

Re: Do I need a track saw?
I'm really looking hard at these, and just on the verge of purchasing. I'm looking for opinions from those who own or have used them. Festool? Makita? Others? The Festool definitely looks like the best one out there, but it's a good chuck of change. If I went with Festool, which one? The 6.25"...

Re: TLAH Pro - CNC Build
No. The LPad must have the same impedance as the load. Thanks. I'll toss them into the spare parts bin. I have to ask, how did you do that finish? It looks very nice in my opinion, and more importantly, SWMBO glanced over my shoulder and went "Wow, those look very nice". Sorry for the lat...

Re: TLAH Pro - CNC Build
I hate to bring this build log back from the dead, but unfortunately it died before I finished the project. I've learned that when you try to make your speaker cabinets look nice, and something goes wrong... it takes a lot longer to fix. Needless to say, several months later (and several packages of...
