Re: Inuke 6000 Cut out
IIRC you have "modified" T36's. I guess 38Hz is ok for a pair of them as a high pass, Bill would need to chime in on that (or someone with T36 plans). The most excursion in drivers is at the lowest frequencies. That places the greatest demand on amplifier outputs as well. Sorry grant but ...

Re: Horn non-linearity frequency dependent
According to the sim that shouldn't be the case, not even close, excursion should be within klippel XMAX to full output. Then what's the problem? If the sim has all the answers, what does the real world matter? Work the problem. Keep investigating. Don't debate the data. I know the excursion isn't ...

Re: Horn non-linearity frequency dependent
Driver, horn length (or hornresp inputs) would be helpful. Materials of construction and bracing amount would also be helpful. Voltage compression occurs would help.

Re: Limiter queries
you are likely mistaking "subs clipping" for the sound of the xti limiter.
hearing the "subs clip" would either be a large dose of distortion or the voice coil smashing the backplate (total failure).

Just wondering why you don't limit on board the xti 4002?

Re: Crossover and EQ advice - 4x T60s and 4x OT12s
dont use 48 db/octave slopes. I would lower the slope to 24 db/octave, and drop your lopass for the subs down to about 80-90 (the rising response of the t60s moves the acoustic crossover point above the actual frequency you set the lopass, and in most cases, you run the subs at a higher level than t...

The festool router is like a gift from God when paired with their dust extraction unit.

Re: Warehouse party, 6 T30's, 2 OT12's
Another thing I see is that dcx2496 you have. It has a dynamic EQ section. Learn to use it. Thats means the dynamic EQ won't engage until you hit a certain input level, it disappears until then. If you took an impedance sweep of the T30 or have someone else do that with parts express DATS hardware/...

Every single gig had my slim t48s hot at the end of the night. I ran them aboute 30-60 times a year and lost about 1 driver a year.
For the most par they will be fine until the dj let's a track run for 4 minutes that's just sine wave at impedance minima. That's what always killed mine.

Re: Hennessey Sound?
Bill, there is no t30 clone (none of the cabs are remotely close in size to the t30). There is no thtlp knockoff (that box is 27x60x30 for obvious reasons, and loaded with an 18). The Dr280s and t60s shown are in bobs club, the only dr280s that have been sold were flatpacks that bob made for Lelands...

Re: Hennessey Sound?
Hey guys. None of our cabs resemble bill's. Hennessey Sound Design is a partnership between Hifibob and myself. Both of us have built and used many BFM cabs and Bob still features 12 lab15 tuba 60 in his club in providence Rhode island, as well as 8 dr280. We started designing our own cabs for other...

Re: Edge Roundover Techniques
3/8 looks best on 1/2 material.
always roundover from the top of the material whos edge you are rounding. doing it this way will prevent chipout from the router bit.

Re: Impero vs Definimax vs Kilomax
Eminence doesnt have a deep bench when it comes to 18s, and even their "stars" barely hang with italy's offerings 2 generations back.
18 sound lw1400/2400, BC 18tbx100 are good examples of the previous generation of italian 18s that do quite well in bass reflex enclosures.
