Re: Which one is better for Dj

Also unless your bi-amping the tops then the Driverack Px should cover you. I am hoping for a cheap, computer software to cover the auto eq in the future since my amps are all XTIs. You mean a DRPA? The PX can be used with passive speakers but is designed for powered speakers. You have to enter eve...

Re: How big of a snake do I need

I really do not understand why snakes with only 4 return channels are even sold. Get 8 returns and then you wont need to worry.

Only because the stands would have been empty, what with the fans all being out in the streets.
I think the correct term is "hooligans."

IMO, a 7 band EQ is pretty worthless. They are too wide.

Re: Pro Audio Amps - Yes, We've had this discussion Before..

I have a GX3 that I push pretty hard and it runs great. Had an outdoor gig last weekend where it was in the sun (well the amp rack was with the GX in it) and it stayed cool. Although in a church it might be better to have the crossovers on the amps since kids like to turn knobs. I would buy more of ...

Re: Used Digital Mixers for Live Sound

In the best of all possible worlds, an SAC rig running off an old laptop and a firewire interface (Echo Audio 8Pre or FocusRite Pro40, maybe) would be the ticket. But $1500 is way out of my price range, even the Yammy is something of an extravagance. I may have scored an 01V for $300 plus shipping....

In install work, amps can live at FOH if necessary, or really anywhere, because larger gauge wire can be used more easily.

For an install yes, but I would much rather deal with one long/heavy snake than a bunch of long cables running from FOH and a snake as well.

Re: 2 x 3000 watts @ 4 ohms..HOW??

Part of the problem is that not every manufacturer measures the rating of their speakers or amps the same. More so in the speaker category but you can see it in amps as well. They were able to measure 6k watts our of that amp, what we dont know are the conditions.

Re: Behringer SX4882

there some things behringer definitely gets right on the performance and price, but their mixers are definitely not one of them. +1 I have one sitting behind me that is there for a "just in case my backup fails" that has intermittent problems. By far the best "bang for your buck"...

Re: Studio Live 16.4.2

Ya know... I've read that and heard that a lot. However, I've owned several (maybe 6 or 7) different Behringer mixers, and never had a bit of trouble with any of them. Granted, the preamps don't sound as good as other mixers, but they're not horrible. Their compressors are decent also. I'm using 18...

Oh grasshopper....what is this mysterious foam of which you speak? Air conditioner filter foam? Hmmmm... haven't heard of that. Enough open air space, I take it? Is this a Home Depot kind of thing? Yeah, any hardware store will have them. They are only like 3/8" or 1/4" thick and come som...

Re: Studio Live 16.4.2

I've looked at them many times, and they do look nice. The "no motorized faders" is a deal killer tho. I don't understand why they didn't include that. Also, not enough processing on the outputs (Graphics, crossovers, etc...) If they would do those upgrades, it would be an awesome mixer. ...

Re: Studio Live 16.4.2

The major thing you should consider when you get one for your church is the learning curve. I was going to have mine buy one until I personally bought one and decided that people wouldnt know what they are doing. I only have volunteers that can kinda do it right on the GL2400 that we have now. But y...
