Re: Phase plug shape

Make the crazy complex plug and then get someone to cast and mass produce'em :)

Still waiting for someone to mass produce melded arrays in twos or fours that fit together. That'd be amazing!

Re: Rock mix slotting

More just a situation where stage volume is a component of the overall sound (e.g. not everything is going to PA), or only vocals are in the PA, or a situation where we're running our own sound and can't spend all night fiddling with it. Supposing either no PA, or the extent of your PA is a generic ...

Rock mix slotting

Not sure if this is the best place for it, but I've been wanting to ask this question for a while - Say you're working for a generic rock stage mix (that does FOH in some circumstances - no PA support). You've got a two Fender devilles and my rig (Markbass F1 -> fEarful 15/6), and a bose L2 for voca...

Re: 7lbs. Amp?????? WOW

That EPQ1000, 1u bridged and 300 bucks, might get me back into a 2u racked pre/power setup. Ugh. :)

The rate power amp tech is expanding is insane :)

Re: O15TB for bass guitar use, picking a suitable amp

If you're looking for affordable, Carvin's BX500 and BX1500 look like pretty much the best eq sections on the market for bass in a lot of ways. Graphic, multiple semi-parametrics, high and low shelving, and even a decent compressor. I'd roll with a Bx1500 for the Tallboy with a 3015LF myself, since ...

Re: O15TB for bass guitar use, picking a suitable amp

IMHO the Shuttle's eq is insufficient for a cab with a freq chart like the O15TB. I have had issues with getting sounds with it before with similar cabs, and while it's a good amp, the 2-band + 1 band semi-parametric is just shy. The max would be ideal, I think, with its multiple bands of semi-param...
