Re: Custom cabinet covers for BFM?
Thanks, JohnP., I got a pair of the D2F (Designed 2 Fit) covers, and they're great. Played maybe 20 gigs so far and they look like new. Here's a bonus-- I roll one of them up to act as a bolster, to angle the top Jack upward when I'm in close proximity to my amp. Looks decent, and works like a charm.

Re: Kreg Jig Tool
I have a Kreg pocket hole jig, and love it for kitchen cabinets. I just finished a pair of Jack 10s, and had no need for the Kreg-- used the PL and a pin nailer, that's it. Maybe if you're doing stain grade on your BFMs, and don't want to use any filler, you could go with the pocket holes, but I thi...

Custom cabinet covers for BFM?
Hello good people of Earth, I have just finished a pair of Jack 10s, and the thought of getting this lovely Duratex finish all scratched up in the tour van has inspired me to look for some custom cab covers. Has anyone had any made (or made them yourself?) for BFM cabs that you'd recommend? I'm look...

Re: Pair of Jack 10s in Oakland, CA, USA
Thanks, Bill. So the more tweeters firing, the less vertical dispersion?
I'm thinking about building a 20" T-39 next, which would raise the top cab, but maybe I'll first get one of Leland's kickback support legs to angle the top cab upward.

Re: Pair of Jack 10s in Oakland, CA, USA
Bill, I have a DPDT on/half/off on both cabs. Are you saying leave them off all the time on the lower cabinet?

Re: Pair of Jack 10s in Oakland, CA, USA
Finished! :hyper: I'll post again in Reviews after I've had a chance to gig with them. Overall, I'm really happy with the look and sound. Fun project! I was all excited to take them on tour to LA and San Diego this weekend with my band Luce, but I just found out backline is provided (and required) o...

Re: Pair of Jack 10s in Oakland, CA, USA
I split the speakers into one-per-channel, and now the amp is happier. World's loudest cooling fan, this thing has. Definitely causing a scene. Hour two of break-in underway.

Re: Pair of Jack 10s in Oakland, CA, USA
I started the break-in yesterday... put a 30 Hz sine wave one hour long on an ipod. Pumped that through my Eden 600 Roadrunner head, wired the 10"s in parallel, hung them up. Found the position of the volume knob where the output was 10.5 volts AC (Master all the way up, gain at half way, way h...

Re: Pair of Jack 10s in Oakland, CA, USA
Thanks for the advice about break-in. I will download a tone generator today and see if I can hook that up. Did I see somewhere that I should check the output from the amp with a multimeter and set the volume knob so the 30 Hz signal registers 10.5 volts at the speaker wires? Is that right?

Pair of Jack 10s in Oakland, CA, USA
Hey Everybody, I'm excited to find this community, and Bill's designs. I've started my first build, a pair of Jack 10s with Deltalite 2510s and full melded tweeter arrays for bass guitar. Why full arrays for bass? I don't know!! Maybe I'll use them for PA later, or maybe I just like the idea of the ...
