Re: Dual Loaded Table Tuba Review

Great review – I wasn’t able to view the pictures. I’m not sure why. I mean I’m signed in !?? Does anyone know why the pics would be blocked?? Sure, they probably used photobucket as a free image host, and photobucket is no longer free so the pics are blocked for that user, or the images were remov...

Oh dude, Menards, lowes, and Home Depot all have those router bits for cheaper than that!
I think what's different with that is that you can put a smaller roller on it and create a lip. Most of those bit come just with the bearing that's the size of the cutter for flush trimming.

Re: Hello from Danville Virginia

Sat and pondered this for a little while and now I think I’m ready for more input. Would any other cab work for a full range solution as a Bluetooth speaker? I like the SLA idea but if I can get away with a single cab solution I might go that route. Thanks for the input Jack 10, Jack 12, Jack 15, O...

the ideal height to me is somewhere in that 4-5 foot range which is hard to come by with 2 or 4
Two 2x10 cabs would be 62 inches......just barely over 5 feet. That would make a nice little tower of power.

Re: drummer's monitor sub

I like the cross over idea in the Tuba 24, but I'd really like to make it a powered/active cab with amp, crossover and limiter. Is this possible? The KL3010 needs a limit set to 55 volts or 378 watts into 8 ohms. preferably with xlr input. Or is this just a bad idea? Well, it all kinda' depends on w...

So I figure I could up the ante with a drummer's sub.
And that you will! Plus, the drummers really get a smile when they get to hear the oomph. Most drummers in local bands never get that experience......hell, most of 'em are excited to get a monitor period!

Re: drummer's monitor sub

Have you thought about trying a butt kicker or throne thumper or whatever else those tactile transducers are called? If you have one drummer to work with, that's an option......but, if you are mixing different bands on a regular basis and sometime several in one day.....it's just not feasible to tr...

Re: NSD:2005 Buzz/Distortion

Wow, thank you for the extensive replies and help. Seriously. You guys are really incredible. I did isolate which driver it was, and I ended up contacting Eminence, and they had me send it to them. They replicated the issue pretty quickly and just sent me a new one. I don't really know what was wro...

Re: drummer's monitor sub

I was considering a Jack 10, but I already had the Yamaha. As Grant said, I built the T24 with the internal crossover. So, one amp channel powers both cabs. Works just fine, although I haven't taken it to gigs in a while as the 15in Yamahas I use for monitors seem to keep the drummers happy enough. ...

Re: Otop Jarray build x 4

if you paint the stuff on with a brush first, then roll it rather than trying to roll it on directly. Also makes the roller much easier to clean up. Are you using the spray grade Duratex? I don't see how you could paint on the roller grade with a brush. It's so thick, seems like it would gum up a b...

Re: On Board Amp

Would I still have to use a crossover made by me or speakerhardware.com , er something like that? No, there's plenty of DSP to achieve a good crossover. But, if you want to drive two speakers with it, you'll need to use NL4 connectors and 2 Pair speaker cable to get the highs and lows to the other ...

Re: THT/LP New

UPDATE: Well there is no update, lol Been busy. Three things have kept me from starting. 1) Lumbar Store by me said no Arauco ACX- and their PLy is $$$ 2) I was spooked by a few people telling me these are not for HT duty- As im chasing flat to 10hz, current sealed need work but they dig deep, even...

Re: Best Tuba for music in large room

1) How would a pair of T18s perform, assuming they are optimally placed? Personally, I'd be fine with 'em. But, they aren't going really low. They roll off starting at 50hz pretty hard. You have to do some listening and decide if you really need a bunch of 30-40hz content. You certainly don't for m...

I cut my phase plug discs to approximate size, then eased em up to the sander and kept turning them to get 'em perfectly round.
