Better than Mackie front loaded. Yes.Mattsoniclab wrote: ↑Tue Jun 15, 2021 7:11 pm I guess what I really want to know is: is one T48 going to be better, or worse, than a front loaded mackie sub? if it's no worse then I can deal with that until building a second pair. thanks!

Re: Scaling way back! Lots of questions
Just a note: the plans I have state 15" as the minimum width with a 12 and says if you go wider than that, you must go at least 1½" wider than the minimum... making 16½" the next size up. That said, I chose 16" for my build and cut all the interior panels to width before I notic...

4x16" t39 with 3012lf will make one hell of a racket. Using auracoply they are really light. The 16" cab is the minimum size so you don't have to do the alternative driver access panel build that a 15" would require.

Re: Interior leaks?
what I do is put a small bead of pl in all cracks and joints on all internal sides as I go. Put a "walmart" plastic bag over your hand like a glove, use your index finder and smear it in the cracks like caulk. Let it dry overnight. It will then expand. Can also be done after the fact to fi...

Re: Peavey IPR2 with 2 ohm load
I am contemplating grabbing one of the IPR2 amps to try out. How do they hold up if you had to run 4 t39's per side in an emergency? I was thinking about grabbing the IPR2 5000. Basically, I had one of my Behringer nu3000dsp's pop yesterday. I figured I could grab one of these to replace it, and if...

T24 takes a 10" driver. No larger. Per the plans.

Re: I wish I had the opertunity to silence the critics!
Mate, Many times, in other forums, I've seen the comment, or similar, that "we" (being BFM users), are somewhat parochial in our support for these designs. Why not? There's a bunch of other manufacturers out there that (quite rightly) place a value on their product, and let their marketin...

Re: 2-ohm amps - reliability & bang for buck
If these 2ohm tests have been done by a manufacturer, I bet they weren't running 2ohms in a hot and sweaty club (as sine mentions), where the temperature delta of the amp/heatsink to the surrounding air wouldn't been anywhere near as much as if running the amps in a much cooler environment (back in...
