Re: Small jigs for cutting dome tweeter flange
Why are you cutting the tweeters for the SLA/TLAH? The plans dont call for it. Just curious The plans do state that the closer the center to center spacing for the tweeter array the better so I chose to cut them down from 2.125 inch of the stock flange to 1.5 inches, this also keeps the length of m...

Tang Band W6-1139SI
Could not help but wonder if a smaller than TT but also sub 30hz horn could be built using a robust 6.5" driver like this new Tang Band?

Re: TLAHs with JVC 3x5s and 1016 piezos
I would have oriented them horizontally, less space between the center to minimizes combing. Vertically they have wider midrange dispersion, and there's no such thing as combing with vertical sources. OK, I must not be understanding something. I thought there was some constraint dealing with the re...

Re: Tool Reviews
I have had the Fein for over 15 years well before it became the Multimaster and it is a Beast! It will last forever, wish I had all of the multi master attachments, I think mine was in the low $200 Range way back then with only the sanding pad, it was the only tool of it's kind when it came out and ...

Re: Angle cuts
Okay, what's the tip or technique for lining up angle cuts on the table saw panel jig? The baffle for the XF210 is killin' me. I'm talking about cuts with the blade set at an angle. Any good tricks for lining the angled blade up on the cutline? This is how I made compound angle cuts on my table saw...

That drives up the cost quite a bit.
(EDIT) also, since they are 4 ohm capable, can they be bridged with an 8 ohm speaker?
From 12 to 32v means you could also power from batteries!, a couple of 18ah motorcyle batteries for 24v maybe?

Re: MDF
MDF cuts nice and works good for butt joints with glue. Weight is pretty much the only issue.. Sorry, but I have found mdf is not good for butt joints, and neither is it good when you want to screw a panel into another that is end on - it splits out. That's why the furniture trade has special fitti...

Re: MDF
I am starting my tuba HT build this weekend and wondered if I can use MDF. I know it will make it uber heavy, but I have 4 1/2" 4'x8' sheets just lying in my dads barn waiting to be used. If MDF is a bad choice for any other reason then weight pls let me know and I will head over to the lumber...

Re: Vox DA5 Mod
Awesome job, gil! Did you have to wire up anything to step down from the 12v? No the supplied wall wart is of the 12v variety and I read some posts online that people were noticing that the unit played a little weaker on batteries than stock, I called a few service reps until I found one nice enoug...

Vox DA5 Mod
I was looking for a cool little battery powered amp for my son to take with us on a road trip (2 weeks, Seal Beach, CA all along the coast to San Juan Island, WA and back down the 5 Frwy through some National Parks) and I gathered from google reviews the Vox DA5 was pretty good (found one on craigs ...

If you go with the bash, buy the one from the actual manufacturer as it has more features, not the one made for PE http://www.oaudio.com/500W_SUBAMP.html

Small jigs for cutting dome tweeter flange
I made a couple of sloppy looking jigs to cut the flanges off of a crapload of dome tweeters for my upcoming TLAH/SLA/SURROUNDS build. I started with some small scraps of MDF I had laying around and just made a sled that held them secure but while cutting the first one it seemed my fingers were WAY ...
