Re: 2 Jack 112s

Unfortunately, PL is not available in the UK and at $30 or more a tube to ship, it's a bit expensive to ship here. Try toolstation.com Lumberjack 5 min pu in a tube about £6. This is the stuff we used on ours, it works really really well but we used multiple applications on the panels and then pret...

Re: Founder of Funktion 1 has a chat about sound...

If only it had been mic'd better. Can see how difficult it is for him to convey things, especially when the host next to him looks bored out of his skull the whole time. Know what he means about traktor killing audio hopefully the settings suggested should improve that. Also massive +1 on a good spe...

Driver cone repair

Right not sure where to put this thread but figured if anyone knows how to repair this driver it will probably be here :fingers: I recently purchased some tannoy precision 8d active monitors, one of which looks like it has perhaps fallen at some point. The damaged cone has a crease on it which has f...

Re: 'tis not a TAT, 'tis a BAT Jbl GTO1014D

The driver purchase was an accident. If I had known about it being substituted I would have cancelled the order but it was sent before they let me know what was up. There were a lot of factors in the decision to do the BAT. Me being cheap and liking the "something for nothing factor" of g...

Can testify that the 1014 is a beefy driver. Did you remove the rubber cover from the magnet in the end? its about 3-4mm thick.
Have run the older jbl gto 804's at about 20w under rated power all night before they seem pretty indestructible.

Re: Autotuba w/8" driver 15" wide vs RF P1-2X10

The at is much more authoritive in a car then in a room. 2 tat's in a small hatchback with back seats removed(puegot 206) on a smallish alpine class d amp (150wrms @ 4ohms) generated serious spl. The chest thump on the kicks was approaching concert levels.

Always corner load your friends. Do not attempt to v-plate as it is deemed cruel.

Re: When are we getting 100% digital amps for crying out lou

What a load of marketing rubbish! http://www.tactlab.com/Products/MS2150XDM/FutureofAudio.html All they have done is make a 'DAC with enough power output to drive speakers' so surely still has a power amplifier stage as it would be crazy for a DAC chip to have power amplifier stage in it aswell. May...

Re: And Now For Something Completely Different...

For eq and crossovers I would highly recommend the Mini DSP: http://minidsp.com/products/minidspkits/2-x-in-4-x-out Will do everything you want and more, uses a minuscule amount of power and will run happily between 4.5-24V I have used my system at a friends farm running from very large 12v batterys...

Re: Volt meter testing your speakers - PLEASE explain (layma

I dont think he understands what people are using the multimeter for. We are using the volt meter on the AC setting to measure the power that the amplifier is outputting and therefore what the speaker is getting. To measure output to a sub woofer I normally play a sine wave of about 50hz from my lap...
