Re: Simplexx 212 3012HO WO NF Bass Cabinet

That is a seriously beautiful cab. I really like the grills and how you used the automotive trim on their edges. I would imagine it would be neigh impossible to cut those grills without a metal shear. I have tried cutting grills by hand with tinsnips (forget about it!) and with an angle grinder you ...

Re: Simplexx 18 Pro Build . . the weatherproof version

Until the OTops are complete, they're not really saleable (IMO). But you could complete them and sell them to Bruce; he's gotten caught out in the rain at 9 of his 10 last gigs this year. :loler: It would be such a waste of time and MONEY to just junk them now. You could always sell them on EBay as ...

Looks fantastic. Your attention to detail is very impressive. I enjoy all the pics and detailed descriptions of what/how you do things. Digging the SS grills/mounting bars too. Where'd you get that stuff? Where do you get the sheet PVC from? I'm not building anything like this; just curious. :)

Re: T18 Build Thread

You know, I'll bet that's going to sound pretty damn awesome. Allthough, at high volumes the top might walk away from the sub a bit. But IIRC, this setup was built for low-SPL applications anyway, right?

Re: Help Needed 6 Tuba 60's Wood Requirements

The Cutlist program is your best friend. Most of us here use it religiously. delphiforfun.org/programs/cutlist.htm The learning curve is not steep at all and after fiddling with it for an hour you'll have it down. Be sure to buy an extra sheet or two of BB. Unless you have considerable woodworking e...

I really like the stained/poly look. Fine looking cab and a really nice father/son project. I hope to do these things with my son as he gets older. He's almost 5 now, but knows how to use a cordless drill. :D

Re: A horn loaded design in Australia's "Silicon Chip" mag

Pretty cool stuff. That magazine reminds me of the old company "Heathkit" here in the states. They would sell kits of parts with projects just like that. We used to have magazines like that here in the states too, but I haven't seen anything like that in awhile. Thanks for posting this.

Cool stuff. What will you use the "baby Tuba" for? n/m Just read your SLA thread. :) Cool...almost like a really nice "computer speaker with a sub" setup? Or a mini-PA for really small events. You could put the whole thing in the front seat of any car! I've never seen a protracto...

Re: Pair of OTop 12s with Delta Pros

Even though I might not have said this while in the build, looking back on it I had quite a bit of fun building them and it's a very satisfying feeling to hear that good sound coming out of those and think "Yep, I built those!" Absolutely, that right there sums it up. Exactly how I feel a...

Gee, I am sort of sorry I asked how things were going! I'm really sorry to hear of your legal troubles, Bob. There's always someone who will crap on your party when their "sanctity of quietness" is disturbed. The fact he filed a noise lawsuit/complaint and he's in an Industrial-zoned area ...

Re: Bessey clamps on big discount at Lowe's

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll check out my local Lowes. I don't need clamps right now, but at that kind of discount for Bessey clamps, I'll stock up and maybe get rid of some of my HF clamps that are slipping.

Re: Ramping up for THT build.

For your intended use of powering a HT sub, the amp will be in a corner somewhere, not moved, not stepped on and probably in a climate-controlled room to boot. The iNuke is a good candidate for this usage scenario. But, the iNuke 1000 puts out 750W RMS at 4 ohms bridged, which is overkill for this u...
