Re: New subwoofer Stack

For my weekly event, I only have to haul equipment about 50 feet, would it make sense to run all 4 T48s off one amp, even if I'm not coming anywhere close to their limits? A little extra extension for the extra work of moving them? Most weeks I'm not going to want or need more than one amps worth o...

Re: Yet another newbie, sorry guys

Hey André, Good to hear from you. I did a factory reset yesterday. I did a "soft" reset. Will that be enough or do I have to do what they call a hard reset? A soft reset is fine, it clears all the settings and returns them to default. A hard reset would also erase any saved profiles and re...

Weldon, let me ask you, because I just assumed...

Are you more interested in getting it dialed in quick and easy? Or, is fiddling with all the DSP features and functions to get this thing ULTRA dialed in part of the fun for you?

Re: Internal Amp For Tuba 24/30?

Hey Audioguy, I'm Seth. Welcome to the forum! I'm another vote for slim T39. I built mine 18" wide and find that it (I only built one) keeps up and is well matched to the output of a pair of QSC K12.2's (very similar to your Peavey's) outdoors. The T39 starts to bump into the limiter at just ab...

If I'm not using the tone generator in my digital mixer, I either use an app or an online tone generator

Re: Finally! Omni 12 Tall Boy build

...The Dynamic bass fattens up the bottom nicely for easy listening... This explains the DB pretty good. I'll have to mess with it after EQ/gain etc. https://wiki.analog.com/resources/tools-software/sigmastudio/toolbox/adialgorithms/dynamicbassboost It sounds like you understand it, but I wanted to...

Re: Finally! Omni 12 Tall Boy build

It seems like you're gonna have to choose between full bodied sound quality, maximum output, or a compromise between the two... or have multiple tunes that you can load depending on where you're using it. It would be great if you could just put a switch on it somewhere for that function, a tune swit...

Re: Finally! Omni 12 Tall Boy build

From last weekends quick fast demo. Basically no EQ, minimal tuning to ear for gains. https://youtu.be/gIldcVx0g68 That's great Weldon  Mids and highs are amazing. Sounded like the lows were struggling a bit, a little distorted. Could have just been the camera. So, how do you feel it comp...

Re: Another budget driver option?

For normal usage, yes. And it has worked brilliantly. It appears he'd like to test the cone durability in a manner that is outside the bounds of the recommended settings. Which, I agree is not a good idea unless he's 100% completely willing to damage the driver. Perhaps it's not a bad idea to just t...

Re: Another budget driver option?

I got it backwards. Thank you

In my model, it indicates the greatest excursion occurs at roughly 25Hz. Would it matter if it's not within the horn's pass band? Or, is it the highest excursion within the horn's pass band?

Re: Another budget driver option?

Just off the top of my head, a purely speculative educated guess based on my (questionable) logic... it makes sense to me that throat pressure would be highest at the resonant frequency, where electrical impedance is lowest and acoustic impedance is highest. @Bill, Is that accurate? If so, modeling ...
