Re: DIY ABS glue
I sanded the rear of the piezo flares, then used some clear PVC cement to initially assemble the array. Next I cut some 1 x 2 pieces of fibreglass matt, then put a coat of fibreglass resin on, laid on the mat pieces then one more coat. Voila! Strong assembly!!

OT15 - built at last: amazing!
Hi all, I FINALLY got my first of 2 single 15" OT15's up and running (despite SWMBO's best efforts!). At this stage, I haven't put the piezo's in, but all I can say is........ WOW!!!! The clarity of midrange tone was very obvious, even very slight adjustments of the tone control pot on my bass ...

Re: Australian version of PL pro is?
Hi Harley, I hope your arm gets better soon - ouch! Now you have me worried. My OT15's are put together with selleys floors and decks, after I put it all together, I noticed with alarm the ease with which the foamed out glue beads can be peeled off! I think it is over priced rubbish, and ditto about...

Thanks DJPhatman, I'll get my head around it sooner or later, I've just been way too busy lately! Yes, I didn't join the piezo's, apart from not having a lot of time available (it took about 2 months or so for me to finish them!) I wanted to see how the most basic arrangement performs. I am sure tha...

Look up GeoffBass in frapper, there's pic's of the cabinet as installed, and of the top and bottom mounting brackets. I just haven't worked out how to post them on here yet! I have had the opportunity to hear them in action with an audience, a bit of careful tweaking at the bottom end and in ...

TLA's built and installed
Hi all, I finally got the two 10 x 6" TLA's finished and installed in my son's grade school auditorium. I made the mounting brackets from 2" square steel tube cut into "U" shaped pieces and bolted together. Each mating pair have a 10mm tapped hole, the nut on the inside is a lock...

I bought some polyurethane woodglue in bottle form from Bunnings hardware called vise supergrip, it works a treat, about $17 for the large 700ml bottle size, its much easier to use only the amount you need. It messed my hands up good, I will ALWAYS use gloves in future! Cheers and happy building, Ge...

MEK DANGER!!
Hi all, Please be aware that MEK is a nasty chemical - when absorbed in your body it goes straight for your kidneys and WILL do you harm!! DO use ventilation to avoid breathing fumes, skin contact also should be seriously avoided. Glue outdoors, a desktop type fan blowing the fumes away would be goo...

Router use
Back in the days of dinosaur sound systems, I made several wildly overbuilt enclosure out of 3/4" ply, complete with 1 3/4" square bracing at every join between panels. I used my Makita 3 hp router ( a beast!) with a 1/2" shank 3/4" radius bearing bit to fully radius the corners ...
