Here's the speaker in a band context. Same equipment; 1/2 volume, no digital changes made:

Our rehearsal room has terrible acoustics; the band needs some work, but you get the idea.

Re: O15TB build in Perth, Western Australia
Something to do while avoiding work and listening to the test match... I recorded some audio samples of my BFM O15TB and compared them with a Labsystems 410HPX ( http://www.labsystems.com.au/labsystems.htm ) - the Lab is a decent 4x10; weighs a ton, power handling 1000W RMS into 8 Ohm. RRP was $2100...

Re: O15TB build in Perth, Western Australia
question for bill...... in this picture the mouth opening for the 15" has two sections. the lower for the speaker and the upper for what? is there a port or opening i can't see? Basically the whole thing is open at the back - the diagonal piece of wood which acts as the 15" baffle doesn't...

Re: Time for a new bass cab.
I may not be answering your needs exactly, but I can't recommend my O15TB enough. I suppose it depends on what sound you want, and it does give a clear, defined sound (but also responds really well to Eq if you want to reduce the treble, whatever) I reckon as a sort of monitor/back up it would work ...

Re: O15TB build in Perth, Western Australia
I used acoustic speaker cabinet felt from Cannon Sound: http://www.cannonsound.com.au/p/573395/acoustic-speaker-cabinet-felt.html It may well be re-branded underlay, but I spotted it while ordering the paint, and it seemed to be the right sort of stuff. I rather carelessly used the verb 'carpetted' ...

Outside painted with 2 coats of Rockard, external hardware on and inside carpeted (the latter an unexpectedly satisfying job): http://www.pearcey.biz/Workshop26.jpg Potential expensive driver-perforating 1 year old in shot: http://www.pearcey.biz/Workshop27.jpg Wiring in - put them on the cross brac...

Cheers - That worked perfectly; no rattling and expensive drivers still safe from small hands (and thrown beer bottles).

Re: Australian version of PL pro is?
I used the Selley's "ultimate strength/platinum edition" glue. It's polyurethane, and seems to correspond to the PL pro otherwise - I got it from Bunnings, it's the most expensive of the Selley's glues. Holding together well so far. I made one mistake quite early on, and the glue was stron...

Re: O15TB build in Perth, Western Australia
Basically finished this now - I've never soldered anything before, but it all seems to work OK. I've put an aluminium flyscreen-type sheet on the mid and bass baffles. This rattles annoyingly when I play a low B at volume. I don't often play a really loud low B, (C is as low as any of my current pla...

Re: O15TB build in Perth, Western Australia
Primer on. The hardware shop only sold white primer, so I got that and coloured it grey with some black paint:

Re: O15TB build in Perth, Western Australia
Finshed the woodwork part of it. Put the frame for the access panel on, and did some holes for hadware: http://www.pearcey.biz/Workshop20.jpg http://www.pearcey.biz/Workshop21.jpg And here's the panel. Probably not quite as good a fit as I would have liked, but had to do a bit of sanding to get it i...

Re: O15TB build in Perth, Western Australia
I don't like to encourage that sort of thing, but that is actually quite funny and clever. It's even a 60-tooth blade!
I'm having another look for it when I'm back from Bali.
