Re: Newbie First Build advice - from Perth, Australia

You can't compare one spec, you have to compare all of them. It only goes about 0.5dB louder than the 9300.

Re: Lost in Omaha

That's a pretty standard sound deadening panel. OTOH my living room has nothing of that sort. It does have acoustical tile ceiling, full carpet, drapes, upholstered furniture and book cases full of books, and finally thick contoured wall paper. When you clap your hands there are no audible reverbera...

Re: Otop 12s to borrow / rent in the UK?

Now everybody drives their children to school and there are two 30 minute periods of traffic chaos each day. So wrong. Letting my old fartness show, when I was in school we got there the old fashioned way: we walked. Elementary school wasn't bad, mine was 1/4 mile distant, but junior high was over ...

Re: Simplexx 110 Build

Jack 12 if it must be fairly compact. Omni 12 is quite a bit larger. You need a van, good sized SUV or pickup for hauling.

Re: Otop 12s to borrow / rent in the UK?

In summary, driving in the UK requires much more effort. One morning commute on the Long Island Expressway, aka, the world's largest parking lot, would divest you of that notion. I have driven Boston to Orlando Nonstop? When I was touring long drives were the norm, when you wrapped up a week ...

You Brits have an odd concept of what's "too far."
+1. They'd never survive a drive from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh, let alone Brownsville to Amarillo.

Re: 2xT45's & 2xOT12's - And your time starts... Now

What really negates the need to bi-amp is the high sensitivity horn loaded woofer. Direct radiators need so much power that the amps driving them tend to get pushed too hard, with the resulting clipping creating at best high THD in the high frequency elements, at worst blown HF drivers. That doesn't...

You'd still need a site to site matter transporter to get it inside.

What would happen if I put a deltalite 10 in a dr200?
You'd be in the same league as David Copperfield or Criss Angel.

Re: Best Set-Up for Multiple Uses

For PA, yes. But not for instruments. Considering the OPs needs I'd say Jack 12s alone would do, without subs. However: I could run everyone through my setup and we'd have no need for a bunch of individual guitar amps littering the deck. Fine but only if they all have emulator boxes. You can't just ...

Re: Pocket Handles or straps

I don't care for the feel of strap handles on the sides of a large cab. I'd use two on the top.
