Re: Multi-pin connectors for audio/power.
I'm not making anything. Just getting my knowledge up. I'm aware running signal with power or speaker is not advisable and I would have seperate multicables for that.

Multi-pin connectors for audio/power.
There seems to be so many and not a lot of comprehensive information about the different types. It seems like 19-pin socapex is the most used for power and speaker snakes. What about audio snakes? What connectors do/would you use and how do/would you use them? Edit: Also, does anyone know if 12/19 s...

Re: Sourcing grill material besides expanded metal...
It looks great but not cost effective. I can cut, paint and form my own grills. I'm just looking for a place to buy the sheet in a design other than the expanded diamond.

Re: Sourcing grill material besides expanded metal...
Oh yes, I'm in Buffalo NY, USA. Yea I've been checking out a few websites but was thinking somebody here would have had prior experience with this situation. Locally, I have a Metal Supermarkets which I've been using their expanded metal, but their website sucks. I'm going to call them to see if the...

Sourcing grill material besides expanded metal...
Hey everyone, For my future builds I'm trying to source some grill material besides the industrial look of the "diamond" expanded metal I have no problem finding everywhere. I'm trying to source sheets (4x8s, 4x12s) of a hex pattern specifically but just a simple hole pattern is fine too. ...

Re: Jack112 x 8 3012HO and ASDs
Sorry fellas. I worked way too hard on these to risk a game of Jenga. I'd love to see a pic of the tallest stack of tops in BFM land though.

Re: Jack112 x 8 3012HO and ASDs
Yes, grills been cut and black oxided for close to 2 years by now. That's also about as long as I had the flats cut for this project also. I've been busy with the birth of a daughter that I've only been able to work on these a little at a time. I am probably going to gaffer tape the grills on tempor...

Re: Jack112 x 8 3012HO and ASDs
I wanted them to be same. I don't think I'm going to miss the extra 30 degrees that much. My reasons for building jacks and not Otops anyway was that I wanted something I could use for anything in the future, be it mains, monitors, bass guitar cab, something in my gig room... whatever. Not practical...

Jack112 x 8 3012HO and ASDs
Review will come eventually. Had a late show last night and have another busy week ahead, but thought I would at least post a picture. These were before I loaded the woofers obviously. I loaded 4 up literally an hour before set up time. Didn't even have time to test. So I did 2 per side for a smalli...

Re: Help please: Spinning Hurricane nuts
I epoxied and they still spun. I swore off using them ever again. I use the 6 prong 1/4-20 t-nuts from partsexpress. Never had a problem.

Re: Anyone have experience in DIY line level attenuator pads
While I'm not taking it personally, I did say what my stage mixer was earlier in the thread. Saying this humbly as possible, I probably disregarded all the questions that assumed I was plugging things in the wrong input because I assume myself more competant than that. No hard feelings. Anyway, cons...

Re: Anyone have experience in DIY line level attenuator pads
Yes, I'm using the 1/4". These DJ mixers have high outputs. My stage mixers mic ins are XLR, and the line ins are TRS. Trust me, I use the TRS's almost all the time as I do sound for DJs almost all the time and this happens pretty frequently. I'm not the DJ, and you know what that means as far ...

Re: Anyone have experience in DIY line level attenuator pads
KISS. I would never use the variable function of the pot, period, so I'm not using one. I have all the parts to make inline cable adapters with ample room for the resistors, so I'm not going to buy more parts I don't need to build boxes I don't want to build, for pots I don't want because they will ...

Re: Anyone have experience in DIY line level attenuator pads
I don't desire it to be variable, nor do I want a knob hanging between my signal cable and my mixer. I don't think 3 resistors soldered to some TRS or XLR points is complicated. I just want someone to verify to me that I have how this works understood correctly.

Anyone have experience in DIY line level attenuator pads?
Hey guys, I need to make some line level attenuator pads because todays DJ mixers will overload the line inputs on my stage mixer with my gains all the way down. I've never done this, so I was hoping somebody with experience could check my work. I came across a few good articles here: http://www.une...
