Re: Amp & Speakers (exeeding power ratings)

I can appreciate advice that Instructs one to be cautious and smart. Only problem there with your advice Phil is in tradional speaker cabs you can hear distortion and turn it down. In horn subs you can't so you could easily blow drivers and not even realize until you see magic smoke and hear no mor...

My DSP Settings for OTops

So I had to use a lot of EQ to get them flat, and granted this might not be exact for everyones system. I'm using Deltalite 2512's with NSD2005's. OT 2x12 FREQ / GAIN / Q 125 / 5 / 3 250 / -9 / 2 500 / -6 / 4 630 / -6 / 4 1000 / 7 / 4 1600 -5 / 4 4000 / -3 / 1 10000 / -6 / 8 I think those are a pret...

Re: berhringer

The one's I've heard sound very thin compared to a decent board. The A&H zed are actually good for the money.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents. I have a zed 12 fx for my rental inventory and it's very nice.

Duratex simply not tough enough

Hi guys,

Any experience with Herculiner? Similar price to Duratex. My Line-x connection dried up a bit and I just don't feel like Duratex is strong enough on titans. It's fine for OTops but the Titans go through much more abuse.

Thoughts?

Re: Issues with OT12 frequency response

The Eminence 2005 with the DIY horn sounds pretty good to me. Different strokes I suppose.

Re: 12x8 BFM system

A lot like the dual PA system. I have always liked this approach better than trying to patch two mixers, etc.

Re: Check my math for my T48 amp please.....

The way I see it, 2ish ohm loads are ok in a pinch, but I wouldn't design around it.

I'd also say that a pair of 4015LF per channel of a RMX 5050 is a decent fit.. 4 is probably too many.

Why buy the 4015 driver if you're peaking at 450w?

Re: Hello - Long time reader, first time question asker

Sweet I think that is what I wanted to hear. We are using some older Crown Microtech's (can't remember the number) to run the EAW LA set up but the case easily weighs around 135 pounds. I would really like two lightweight amps, running 4 of each, that when I need to will get crazy loud but still so...

I am into the T24's - they are great for my band practice - it's a smallish room and they are corner loaded.

Re: OTop 112 / NSD 2005 and Tuba 24's

Yeah originally I bought a TD-12 and just upgraded everything except the kicks. I might get a pair of KD-120s, just $$$$$.

Re: OTop 112 / NSD 2005 and Tuba 24's

I'm a new builder so I've just built these cabs here. I really don't know about NSD 2005 vs. Piezos. To me, the CD is a more generally accepted way of creating a speaker. I think it helps me "sell" the cabs to bands I'm running sound for. It's close to a $100 difference in the kit, and I'm...

Re: OTop 112 / NSD 2005 and Tuba 24's

Yeah I bought the kit before having the plans, I just figured more $$ = better. I built the T24's just to get my feet wet - I expect to store them away after the build because I didn't think they would be worth anything. Now I must admit, I am very impressed by them. They do great for my band practi...

OTop 112 / NSD 2005 and Tuba 24's

Hi guys, Just figured I'd post a quick review on the cabs I've built. So far, only 6 - 4x OTop 112's and 2x Tuba 24's. The build for 2x T48 30" started today, will probably take a week or so. So far, I'm really really happy with the OTops. They sound really clear, not overly bright, seem to hav...

Re: Behringer EP4000

From what I've read the 4000 is a re-labeled 2500.
Both junk if you know what a good amp is.

But not bad for the money.
