Re: omnitop12 first build!
I've built a couple of Jack 110s that have short flat arrays. I used the Pulse piezos from CPC Farnell. The speakers sounded way better than the Wharfedale Titans that I had even when just using the graphic in my PA mixer amp to EQ. I'm just down the M56 from you, near Knutsford. PM me if you'd like...

Re: My new 2 Jack Stack Attack....
You left out the Welsh! Probably a good thing as they are as thin skinned as Americans. They live in Wales. Isn't that punishment enough? Not punishment enough it seems.... In the town of Chester, near the Welsh border, there is an old bye-law, as yet not repealed, that allows a citizen to shoot at...

Re: Keeping the cabinet square
I'm glad that someone has 'fessed up to this. My Jacks are slightly out but I thought that I was the only one. Now I find that there's others who have had the same problem I don't feel too bad about it. The worse of my two J110s was only about 1/8 inch out but it was enough to make it wobble on a pe...

Re: 2 J110s for bass - first gig
the good news is ..... I received a very rapid response from Ashdown Not so good... the response was a single line "You need to get in touch with your dealer to arrange repair of it." I carry a cheap & cheerful Behringer BD121 preamp / DI as a backup - it allows me to go into the PA an...

Re: 2 J110s for bass - first gig
Your right - I've contacted their support dept.
The question is, even if they fix it, will I trust it for a gig without backup?

You could put it that wayGregory East wrote:L'il Giant couldn't handle the jacks?

The amp just cuts out and it feels (and smells) a bit hot but the fan hasn't come on so there's obviously some fault that has been lurking until the warranty expired - the amp is 14 months old!

2 J110s for bass - first gig
GreatEscapeSmall.jpg I finally got to play my first gig with my two Jacks last Saturday. :hyper: We were asked to provide the music for a 60th birthday at the local village hall. I've played there a few times with other bands and it's a nice place to play. There's a decent stage, good acoustics and...

Gregory, when you say a processor, do you mean something like Behringer's DCX2496?

Re: Really basic EQ question
Thanks Zack.
I had been wondering about this as most GEQs seem to be stereo. I assume if you have a stereo GEQ you can use one side for your FOH and the other for monitors?

Really basic EQ question
This might be a really dumb question but I've never used anything more complex than a mixer into a power amp driving full range speakers on sticks... What's the best place for a graphic eq when running subs and tops? Do you balance the complete signal in mono before the crossover or eq the high and ...

Just another Jack
I've finally finished my first Jack 110. Its been in use for quite a few weeks now as I've been putting the finishing touches to it Tonight I finished the grille so I've taken a few photos to post The first is the radius jig I made for routing out circular holes. I lifted the idea from another membe...

Re: Jack 110 and the rigging to suspend them
At the moment I'm favouring a platform bolted on to an external top hat stand (like this http://www.bluearan.co.uk/index.php?id=ADHSPS57&browsemode=category ) with ratchet straps passed up through the handles and over the top.Anyone done this? I have two DIY options that do work very similar, w...
