Re: Presonus Mixer

I use 2 different Presonus mixers the 16.4.2 and a 24.4.2 also I use the X32. I set the Presonus mixer to locate so as when I use the ipad I can see where I adjusted the faders. The X32 is a good mixer, and it does have Midas Pre's and Klark eq's. The ipad app hasn't been updated yet for the latest ...

Re: Snail kick drum?

I used to use a Alesis D4 on a drummer I worked with, I just used the signals from the kick and snare. It worked great in all the rooms we played Kick Drum Tricks I've heard of or used: Trigger a Drum Machine from the drum channels -- This is as old as the original Lynn drum itself. Diana Ross' engi...

Re: Just an update Otops and Titan 48's

Cool. Are you using anything between the Presonus and the amps? The Presonus is going to my DBX Driverack PA then to my amps, The Ipad is interfaced with it's own 5Ghz router via the laptop running firewire to the Presonus. I did see the new 32.4.2 has a usb that has something to do with wireless c...

Just an update Otops and Titan 48's

I mixed a show last night using my Presonus 24.4.2 with 4 otop12's and 4 Titan 48's. Due to the Party house layout I couldn't run a snake out front, so Ipad to the rescue. Ipad Mixing Sm.jpg With the implementation of Smaart into there board now, it was and enjoyable experience tweaking the FOH. Jim

Re: Lighting : Reliable Stand + Cans + Lasers ??

Last year or so I bought 12 par 64 led's off ebay for 700.00 and recently got 4 chauvet color strip leds for a 100 a piece. I run this with the American DJ Mydmx from a laptop and a Korg midi controller. The stands I bought from Cheaplites, so for a little more than your budget I have a nice little ...

Re: How the He11 do U deal with sound "experts" in the booth

I figure if 1 out of 700 complains I'm doing good I figure if no one complains it isn't loud enough. And those who complain invariably say 'we're trying to talk'. If you want to talk go somewhere else. :cussing: +100 Funny thing was this place has an outside area covered by a big tent, this person ...

Re: How the He11 do U deal with sound "experts" in the booth

Sorry to hear of your trouble, I had sort of the same thing happen in a club. A person came up to me and asked can't you turn it down? I looked at him smiled and said excuse me a second, then I asked the couple directly behind him " do you think it's too loud?" They replied hell no it soun...

Re: Attention StudioLive and Soundcraft SiCompact users...

FOH will be on the mixer itself... the FOH guy isn't computer savvy. In fact, the FOH PC may even end up in another room, for lack of space in the current sound cabinet (I have doubts that the 24.4.2 will even fit in there). Remember with firewire, Presonus officially says 12 feet is the max distan...

Re: Attention StudioLive and Soundcraft SiCompact users...

The StudioLive console has a firewire which hooks to a laptop with the control software installed.
You hook up a wireless router and create your own network for a Ipad, unless you're running a Mac then no
router needed. I love mine

Re: StudioLive mixing on iPad

Just a note you can also run another Ipad with permissions set for the monitor sections.
Just saying that way the board could remain side of the stage out of too many fingers
and not accidently hitting the wrong thing :)

Re: Bill's speaker stands...

This is what i am planning to do.I will strap 2 of these stands together vertically, then strap the speakers to the top stand (piece of wood as deep and wide as the DR's to be used as a platform on top of the stand).I wont have to angle the top cab as much as i have it now.i'll see how it works out ...

Re: digi mixers question

Good choice on the Presonus, I mix for a band who have there own PA. They have the 1604 only took me a little while to get used to it. Plus there are quite a few videos from there live webinars they hold these every so often. I was used to the outboard f/x but I get what I need from the onboard f/x ...
