Re: Need a compressor, which?
You only need the 2x4 minidsp since you're running 2.1. Check out the thread called "amp recommendations", should be easy to find with active topics button. I posted more detailed reasons there. No, the 2 fronts are 2-way actives. And there's basically no 4x10s available in Norway. I'll c...

Re: Need a compressor, which?
After rereading my previous post, it now does seem ambiguous. What I meant is that trying to compress non-bass frequencies in your signal chain in order to boost the bass levels is a bad idea.
Since you already have a measurement mic, then I would recommend the minDSP even more.

Re: Need a compressor, which?
OHHH, in that case I'll give my opinion. I think it's a horrible idea trying to compress everything except the bass frequencies. For home use, I'd go for a consistent flat curve (slightly eq'ed to your liking) and let everything play through as it was recorded and meant to be played. Saying that, I ...

Re: Need a compressor, which?
With those amps and speakers (and going by your first two questions) I assumed you were doing PA. But now I'm confused, are you going to use this set up for HT too?

Re: dbx DriveRack goRack Compact PA Performance Processor
Clicked on the first google link and it saw it for $29. Seems rather useless though. I would say it's more of a preset eq + preset compressor. Seems to lack anything useful for actual PA management.

Re: Looking for an amp recommendation
I would pass on the HD since it is double the price, but if you really want that to go the extra mile it might be worth it for me. I did some blind tests when I was into recording and I honestly couldn't tell a difference even between a 192kb mp3 vs Wav file, much less anything beyond that. However,...

Re: Nordo's Dual T39 Build
Grats on finally getting your titans done. That's a beautiful graph; I think that's the real graph of what a t39 should be. Also, while similar, the graph you posted is a completely different driver and is basically like comparing the s2010 to the bp102, both are 10" but produce quite different...

Re: Rolling cable (of the actual kind)
I stumble across this video, and this info has been shared before, but it's been awhile, so I thought it should be shared again since it would be beneficial for the newbies. (ramble n' on) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yPcJD7RVuY I found a similar video about five years ago and have been doing i...

Re: Looking for an amp recommendation
Yeah, I had the same experience when I was first looking into it as well. But not to worry, all you would need is the basics which is the 2x4 (2 inputs, four outputs) and the 2.1 plugin. This is what I personally run. About the FIR, don't worry about anything there. It is along the same lines as exp...

Re: Looking for an amp recommendation
Hello seistres and thanks for the input. Would you recommend I even sell my dvx driverack PA I purchased for 280cad in order to get a minidsp? Why? I would consider this, as I can probably sell the drive rack for more than I paid for it. Many thanks for the input! If you are able to sell it for not...

Re: Looking for an amp recommendation
Guess I'm late for the thread, oh well, I guess I'll still post for any future users looking into the topics. First off, I would recommend the most important and most amazing piece of gear needed for these set ups: MiniDSP. I would recommend it well above anything for live/studio use. Once integrate...

Re: Nordo's Dual T39 Build
Check the history books. Napoleon lost at Waterloo. The metric system is a French plot to accomplish what he failed at, world conquest, one tape measure at a time. America remains the last bastion of the freedom to use a system of measurement that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. :cussing: 'ME...

Re: Modded Table Tuba Idea. Good or Bad? Suggestions?
Random thread hijack, to avoid starting a new thread for a simple question. In the TTLS plans, the minimum width for a single 10" is 16"... but the minimum width for a 2x10" is 24". Could you put 3 10's into a 36" cab, or possibly build three 1x10's at 12" wide? Horns ...

Re: The system
Te recomiendo las ot12 o dr250/280. Las jacks pierden mucho para poder tener mas bass, mientras las otras son escpecialmente disenadas para usarlas con bajos.
