Re: Electric Guitar..again(sorry) JAck 210 or xf210-coax, or???
I just posted my results to the "electric guitar monitor" thread. My Jack 110 works great. +1 to Bill's advice. Not familiar with your modeler; mine has a line/amp switch, and sounds great direct when set to line.

Re: electric guitar monitor
finally... after many delays I have completed a Jack 110. I loaded it with a 2510, and used a flat 6 piezo array and the crossover mod with the 4 ohm resistor on the input of the crossover instead of the output. This weekend I gigged it for the first time, in a sizeable venue (seats ~1000). I came s...

Re: Voltmeter Question
So what are you trying to say? Have I been duped by wikipedia or are all the guys buying "true RMS" meters to set up their pa just wasting money? The other meter will give the right answer only under certain conditions. if you inadvertently fail to meet those conditions you may get the wr...

Re: Voltmeter Question
wikipedia has a good explanation: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/True_RMS_converter. in a nutshell: as long as the signal you are measuring is a sine wave with no dc offset (which is pretty common) you'll get the right answer.

Re: Hideaway PA

Re: electric guitar monitor
LOL! sorry Tim, don't mean to be rude. just funny because that's actually the first thing I tried - an open back cab with Tonkerlites. it seemed like a good idea, but it didn't work for me. neither did the Lil'Texas. To get some more HF I tried the Beta-12LTA, which was better but still not great. Y...

Re: electric guitar monitor
I think Randall is on the right track. The FX would suffer from the same problems as the other guitar amp/cabs I've tried. Chris, those are very persuasive curves, thanks! I think I see a 10.5 in my future... I saw your thread on SPL chart and look forward to a chance to try it out. DJPhatman, that'...

electric guitar monitor
I've been reading through the forum for a while now and haven't seen a discussion that quite answers my questions. If I have missed something please redirect me. I play electric guitar. I have to cover a wide range of styles, so using an amp modeler works really well for me. My modeler sounds great ...
