Re: Duratex question

OK cool. Thanks guys. I think what I have is the spray grade but I will mix a little water in if its too thick.

I bought a hopper gun last night but I can't seem to find any info on how you clean the thing after use. What do you guys do to clean your hopper gun after using Duratex in it?

Duratex question

Sorry if this is in the wrong area. Not sure where to put this thread. I need to do some finish touch ups on a couple of my Tuba 36's tomorrow for a gig. Cabs were coated in Duratex. I didn't build them, I bought them from Blades 976 aka John when he was an authorized builder. At the time he gave me...

Re: Limiting Amplifier output with Volt meter

I'm contemplating a DBX 260 for myself... Since this box is essentially software, isn't there a limiter after each crossover? IIRC, they offer some 6-odd output channels. If I was going to do this with analog boxes, the limiter would be after the EQ, and before the crossover. Its a great piece Bruc...

Re: Limiting Amplifier output with Volt meter

The amp isn't going to respond to an 80 Hz signal any different than it would to 100 Hz. So even the fact you are right on the crossover point or beyond it makes no difference? Just trting to understand... not trying to be a smart ass by the way. I guess I'm just wodering how that works for example...

I've been wondering this same thing. In his example he's crossing over at 130hz, but what if your crossing over lower as I think most people would. I am crossing ober at 100hz, and sometimes at 80hz. What frequncey would you use then?

Re: Confused: Setting Limiter: How to convert volts to DBU?

A few more technical questions about setting the limiter for the Tuba 36. So I know the limiter should be set to give the driver a maximum of 60 volts. I also know that 60 volt figure comes from taking the 450 watt rating of the driver and multiplying that by the impedance of the driver which is 8oh...

Re: Confused: Setting Limiter: How to convert volts to DBU?

OK sorry about that. I tried sending you a PM with the purchase date and email address the plans were sent to but the mesage is stuck in my outbox and will not actually send. Any ideas why it wont send? I had that same question a while back, and it turns out that it does send the message, but it sh...

Re: Confused: Setting Limiter: How to convert volts to DBU?

I have been told I am not setting my limiter correctly if I am only converting the watts to volts and NOT converting the volts to DBU Not by a knowledgeable source. If you read the amps output in volts you don't need to know the dBu value. Yeah thats what I thought.... I mean I can use a volt meter...

Confused: Setting Limiter: How to convert volts to DBU?

I have been told I am not setting my limiter correctly if I am only converting the watts to volts and NOT converting the volts to DBU so I have a couple questions. 1. How DO you convert the volts to DBU? I was given an example but it seems I’m either missing something or looking at it totally wrong....
